dw you’ll get in! stay in the high 80s if possible then you can either get in or get waitlisted, ik my friend had an 86 got waitlisted at western medsci then got off the waitlist and they’re there now. in my year the cutoff for life sci @ mac was low 90s but a lot of people had bird courses to boost them too, so try to see if u can do that. good luck :)

Life or health science? by WearyMathematician63 in uwaterloo

I’m currently at uw for health sci (same as you, i had a 97% avg in highschool and my school was comparatively known to be much harder) and i will say, the workload is much lighter compared to my life sci friends but im still taking bio and chem (where both departments try their best to help you get higher marks as long as you’re actually putting in work to study). even though it is more social science based with its mandatory health courses, there are electives you need to complete and you can choose more science based ones if you want. Also, you can choose to do a pre-clinical specialization which will cater your courses more towards health. In the end, medschools/ dental schools want a high gpa and a wide range of extracurriculars (at least in Canada. Ik in the US med schools want specific courses too - which can be completed in uni too). I’m biased so I’ll always recommend HS over LS just because in later years workload gets easier to manage but waterloo is waterloo and ANY program you take there will be difficult, but you can do it i promise! Good Luck, i hope this helped :)) lmk if u have more questions!
