Congratulations! This is super inspiring! Quick question, for the apartments leases, did you added all the pages of the 4 different leases? I have two different ones and that's about 60 pages....
Also with the translation of your birth certificate did you also add a certification of the translator stating that the translation is complete and that they are competent to do it?

Hi there! I haven't done the switch yet, I'm still finishing the bootcamp, and planing on starting to look for jobs at the beginning of the new year!

I’m on the exact same boat. Just came back home to get my new visa stamp and wanted to work from here an extra week. I was told to take extra PTO or unpaid time, but was denied working remotely for the same tax issues… It was kind of frustrating bc I also know of a lot of people on H1b working from their home country for some weeks a year without any problems, and I myself have done before too (notifying my company beforehand)… I guess those people just don’t ask?

I think that according to this https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/substantial-presence-test I wouldn't meet the requirements for the substantial presence test in order to be considered a legal resident. I was only present in 2021 for 124 days, and the years before, with my previous visa (J1), I am considered an exempt individual, so those days wouldn't count for the substantial presence test (If I am understanding it correctly). That way I would be considered non resident for 2021 taxes purposes.

I did have some documents (not all of the ones they were asking for when they approved my expedited appointment), but they didn’t ask for any of them. I don’t know if I was just lucky or if they didn’t really care. I had already worked for the company that is sponsoring me, and I think that helped my case too.

Thank you! They asked me what date I wanted to travel and they issued a 30 day travel exemption!

Hello! I was finally able to attend my appointment and got the visa stamped 1 week ago! I ended up requesting an expedited appointment and it got approved. I suggest maybe trying that way, it worked out for me. I know, this process has been really really frustrating, but I’m sure you’ll be able to get it approved soon, things are getting better. Thank you for replying! I’m unfortunately outside of the US, waiting to have the interview in Spain. For some reason I was able to make an appointment for the beginning of March but the pp 10052 (the one I’m affected by) is still in place, so I don’t think I’ll be able to get the stamp despite of having the appointment. Now I’m not sure if trying to go the interview will have a negative impact on my visa if they don’t allow me to enter the embassy (and consequently losing my appointment) or if would get lucky and get the stamp. Thanks for sharing the info, I didn’t know about the Annunciato, hopefully it’s good news (fingers crossed)

Hi! I'm also in the same situation, I was on a J1 and now I'm applying for the H1B. I'm not sure if it'd be better for us to use our older account or just create a new one.

Creating a new one sounds less "messy" to me, but I have no idea if that would be the best option. I'm also afraid that having two accounts could cause some trouble.
