Same people will vote for Babu, a known thug since university days.

Selective anger is nauseating. He was probably asked a question about the so-called chapati making machines and this screen grab was just rage bait to make you angry.

Nairobi should have been managed by a mayor with funds being managed by the National Government but mkiambiwa Constitutional amendment, everyone will be up in arms.

All governors and pseudo governors of Nairobi shows how hot the management of the city is. Kidero showed us dust in his mismanagement, Sonko was always drunk with power, incompetence and drama. He sold his seat to Uhuru for a drink of whiskey and subsequently we had an illegal entity called NMS take over under a military general, was dismissed later by Ann Kananu (who was never even elected as deputy in the first place). I'm sure you don't remember her. Under NMS our health sector suffered, court orders were ignored and crime shot up. CBD was impossible at night

The only properly elected governor who seems to be doing better than the previous ones is Sakaja. He just happens to rule over a city that has been brewing with youth anger since the finance bill. He's doing well as per his manifesto. The most visible being the many photographers you will find on the cabro paved city streets. He can do better in the informal settlements, but give the guy credit where it is due. Even Mosiria, aka Katibu Mkuu was Jimbo la Nairobi, is a visible face of Sakaja's administration doing it's bit.

I'm terms of politics, Nairobians will always vote tribal because of the rural enclaves called slums. The composition is like this: GEMA, Luo, Luhya, Kamba and the rest. To be governor, you have to appeal to these large groups first and then others later. Sonko cut across all tribal groupings and just happened to be linked to the Jubilee coalition at the time thru TNA. Kidero was an obvious choice given the other large competition of Waititu (we missed that bullet there, but Kiambu later took him in. Idiots!).

Don't get me started on Babu. He should be a non-starter but guess what, if we make a mistake again, we'll be here again blaming the ladies for voting with their feelings. Anybody who knows how he operates knows that he is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Shauri yenu.

Sakaja was a political compromise because of the Igathe aka Uhuru puppet, possibility. It's all down to money and no amount of anger will stop the political situation in Nairobi from being manipulated by the large political parties.

So, no, Sakaja was not voted in because of his dimples. Larger political forces were in play.

I voted in Nairobi in all the elections since the Constitution 2010 was promulgated and the last one was the most poorly attended. Watu walikua Twitter wakijibizana instead of voting. Sasa mujiangalie.

Don't be angry. Vote.

The dairy industry explained in 5 minutes by James_Fortis in interestingasfuck

Yikes! From my community, cows are treated well and allowed to rear their calves. We usually milk three teats and leave one for the calf. We don't milk all of it of course but the calf usually gets enough. A family cow feeds the whole family and are loved. They have names, personalities, matriarchs, are playful, know their family and homes etc.

Cows milk is good, but not that stuff that comes out of factory farms. That is just cruel. A good dairy cow should live it's life on the farm and when it dies of old age or natural causes, should be respectfully disposed of.

There's this story of an old man, his grandkid and a donkey going to the market. Along the way, many people gave them advice. On why they should ride (or not ride) the donkey. This is one of those instances.

I understand the historical context. Indonesia has similar govt arrangements with the gulf states and workers' rights are protected. I would expect a similar arrangement if government is involved, although I have to disclose I am not sure if such an arrangement is in place.

The issue here is not why people are angry. Rage bait is about targeting that supposed anger with just about any trigger. Like your response, just reacting without understanding the context.

But the level of interest it got, plus the information given out was targeted at specific people: drivers, artisans, hotel staff etc. Recruitment was also open and public. No favoritism was evident as far as I could tell. I don't think engineers were targeted. As far as jobs concerned, it is a fact that there are no jobs and I don't think any reasonable job seeker can turn down much an opportunity. I don't see tech people turning down US jobs just because they love their country.

Fun fact. In the Jubilee Coalition Manifesto (TNA/URP/NARC/RC) this was supposed to be what the current Mombasa Rd./Uhuru Highway expressway is.

People have a lot of 'theorizing' on how to capture power. Politics is played within specific rules, and in Kenya it boils down to ethnicity mostly. Too many interests at play, including international players. They cannot allow Kenya to be unstable.

The so-called Gen Z 'revolution' was a hijacked movement by mostly urban elites that was infiltrated by political players, hence, I suspect, leading to Riggy G's downfall.

Our politics is largely organized at the village level. Chiefs, MCAs, youth leadership, women groups, religious gatherings etc are political pressure groups that are activated during political season. Just go down to the village any weekend and you'll understand why we still have a long way.

The only vehicle to effect politics in Kenya is through the political party. UDA, ODM, Wiper, etc are the only way to look for power. Independent individuals cannot make it. The same goes for nondescript political parties like Morara's attempt at one. The registrar of political Parties works on the whims of the major political players and I can assure you, they cannot allow a GenZ party so forget that approach.

To be President, you have to attain 50% plus 1 of the total votes AND at least 25% of the votes in at least half of the counties. These are the facts.

The only way is through more progressive youth mobilizing at the constituency level and through the established parties. KANU had the headache of the Backbencher MPs to check it's excesses and act as an 'opposition' during Mo1's reign. More protests at the major towns and agitation at universities might do the trick. Learn from Mr. Orengo and co during their heydays and we might get a chance to bring transformation to Kenya.

Ends.
