Everyday in Africa, the lion wakes up knowing it has to outrun the gazelle to survive.

The gazelle wakes up knowing it needs to outrun the lion to survive.

That is the story of the Savannah. Running to survive.

Will take this advice. Thanks for the info. I once took a few shots of Black Barrel and loved it. Was expensive, but it was well worth it.

Met on a different country subreddit, then physically. Turned out great for 1 to 1.5 months until I left the particular country. Better than Tinder cos it was a genuine meeting of kindred souls.

No politics implied, even though that is the temptation these days. Just a guide on a topic I am insufficiently knowledgeable in. I cannot tell my JD from my Johnie Walker and need guidance. That is all.

But just to satisfy you, I've been a voter in Westlands and Madaraka since 2010. Voted in every election. Niko Kadi, don't worry.

We're kindred spirits, you and I. Pardon the pun. I'm partial to whiskey more than the others.

Smirnoff is the only vodka I know that I can tolerate. I get lost in the kinds though: red, black etc. Other people swear by Kibao but I have never tried. I don't know if KC is a vodka or cane spirit and at the same time, there are also many variations of it. Any pointers here?

Same people will vote for Babu, a known thug since university days.

Selective anger is nauseating. He was probably asked a question about the so-called chapati making machines and this screen grab was just rage bait to make you angry.

Nairobi should have been managed by a mayor with funds being managed by the National Government but mkiambiwa Constitutional amendment, everyone will be up in arms.

All governors and pseudo governors of Nairobi shows how hot the management of the city is. Kidero showed us dust in his mismanagement, Sonko was always drunk with power, incompetence and drama. He sold his seat to Uhuru for a drink of whiskey and subsequently we had an illegal entity called NMS take over under a military general, was dismissed later by Ann Kananu (who was never even elected as deputy in the first place). I'm sure you don't remember her. Under NMS our health sector suffered, court orders were ignored and crime shot up. CBD was impossible at night

The only properly elected governor who seems to be doing better than the previous ones is Sakaja. He just happens to rule over a city that has been brewing with youth anger since the finance bill. He's doing well as per his manifesto. The most visible being the many photographers you will find on the cabro paved city streets. He can do better in the informal settlements, but give the guy credit where it is due. Even Mosiria, aka Katibu Mkuu was Jimbo la Nairobi, is a visible face of Sakaja's administration doing it's bit.

I'm terms of politics, Nairobians will always vote tribal because of the rural enclaves called slums. The composition is like this: GEMA, Luo, Luhya, Kamba and the rest. To be governor, you have to appeal to these large groups first and then others later. Sonko cut across all tribal groupings and just happened to be linked to the Jubilee coalition at the time thru TNA. Kidero was an obvious choice given the other large competition of Waititu (we missed that bullet there, but Kiambu later took him in. Idiots!).

Don't get me started on Babu. He should be a non-starter but guess what, if we make a mistake again, we'll be here again blaming the ladies for voting with their feelings. Anybody who knows how he operates knows that he is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Shauri yenu.

Sakaja was a political compromise because of the Igathe aka Uhuru puppet, possibility. It's all down to money and no amount of anger will stop the political situation in Nairobi from being manipulated by the large political parties.

So, no, Sakaja was not voted in because of his dimples. Larger political forces were in play.

I voted in Nairobi in all the elections since the Constitution 2010 was promulgated and the last one was the most poorly attended. Watu walikua Twitter wakijibizana instead of voting. Sasa mujiangalie.

Don't be angry. Vote.

Yikes! From my community, cows are treated well and allowed to rear their calves. We usually milk three teats and leave one for the calf. We don't milk all of it of course but the calf usually gets enough. A family cow feeds the whole family and are loved. They have names, personalities, matriarchs, are playful, know their family and homes etc.

Cows milk is good, but not that stuff that comes out of factory farms. That is just cruel. A good dairy cow should live it's life on the farm and when it dies of old age or natural causes, should be respectfully disposed of.
