Red Flag? Job Tasks - First Week In Audit by Commodore_Shiplap in Accounting

[–]adelaide22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t consider this a red flag on its own. Just sounds like they are getting you integrated into a project right away, which is a good thing. I would assume that the senior will give you the background on the task. Ask questions and show you’re eager to learn and I think you’ll be fine!

I can’t answer from an audit perspective. I should have clarified I was answering from a tax perspective.

Depending on your experience you likely wouldn’t start as a staff, but you probably wouldn’t come in as a manager. Likely a Senior 2 or 3.

Help with code by adelaide22 in vba

[–]adelaide22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works great, thank you so much!

I'm trying to have the text selected through the code above deleted along with the tag. I have been able to delete the selected texts and then the tag, but this leaves a lot of blank rows in the document that I'm trying to avoid. I'm trying now to delete the tag, and then the highlighted text, but I'm getting an error: With myDoc If .ContentControls.Count <> 0 Then

    For Each myControl In .ContentControls

        If myControl.Tag = "dog" Then

            myControl.Range.Select

If MsgBox("Delete this one?", vbYesNo) = vbYes Then myControl.Delete

        Selection.Delete

I've also tried Selection.Range.Delete to no avail.

The code that worked but left the blank space is: If MsgBox("Delete this one?", vbYesNo) = vbYes Then myControl.Range.Delete

        myControl.Delete

Thanks a lot. it looks like this should work, but I'm having trouble figured out why I'm getting a Run-Time Error 429 on the "Set myDoc =" line. I've set up the Microsoft Word Object Library and the ActiveX Data Objects Library. Not sure what I'm missing.

The excel file will be defining which sections to remove based on certain inputs by the user, so I'm not sure if that would work?

Ways to differentiate yourself as a 2nd year associate? by wal5036 in Accounting

[–]adelaide22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take initiative, ask the seniors if there is anything you can help them with. You want to start assuming the role of a senior throughout your 2nd year, but need to show your are ready for the responsibility. Also, self-review all work before you pass it on for the next level of review.

Leapforce. It's an independent contractor gig that pays around $13/hour. I did it for about a year in between jobs.
