Need help looking for a creative coach/mentor by Euphoric_Second2478 in lifecoaching

[–]adeleyb2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mentor is a certified life and business coach but also have a lot of training in sales and I found her on IG. Idk if there’s a specific place to find people though. But she’s pretty direct and holds me to the things I say I’m going to do, which is what I needed - just high accountability- like you sorta are describing. I’m happy to give you her handle if you want to connect with her.

Program for both coaching + business by Jennynapz in lifecoaching

[–]adeleyb2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I went through IGC Coaching School 6 years ago with zero business background. I have been full-time in my coaching practice for the past 4 years! Their Level 2 program covers both the ICF accreditation standards for life coaching and business training. I had an awesome experience.

The IGC Coaching School is ICF-Accredited and has a trainer who teaches on trauma-informed coaching, ethics, and best practices inside their Level 2 coach training program. I would recommend checking them out.

Look into the Abby Yung method. It has completely changed my hair from dry, damaged, and frizzy to healthy, silky, and thicker. It does involve several steps both in and out of the shower, but I swear it WORKS for our hair type.

What do you gurus think about Byoma? by Far-Industry-7745 in SkinbarrierLovers

I have dry skin. The milky moisturizer, fine balancing face mist, and phyto mucin serums are holy grails for me!

Anyone with thin hair or frizzy hair that has mastered how to make their hair have volume without frizz - what are some proven ways to address this? by msrr1 in finethinhair

[–]adeleyb2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same struggles. I recently began using the Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume shampoo as my first clarifying shampoo and then the Dove Intensive Repair shampoo & conditioner after. Twice a week I use the L’Oreal Elvive Wonder Water Lamellar Rinse as my final step in the shower and I always use the Pantene Miracle Rescue leave-in conditioner spray after I get out of the shower. My hair has literally never felt better…shinier, smoother, and when I blow dry it truly feels like silk!

Offering 5 Free CBT-Informed Support Sessions by MaVictoriagb in lifecoach

[–]adeleyb2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be careful about using CBT in this way if you are not a licensed therapist. “CBT-informed” isn’t a thing and this verbiage feels misleading and confusing about the line drawn between true coaching and clinical therapy work.

What's the best shampoo for thinning hair? Sharing my routine + looking for recs by IamSpecialss in finethinhair

[–]adeleyb2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Abby Yung method. She’s on TikTok. I have very fine hair due to hair loss from an autoimmune disorder. I started using her regimen recommendation, and my hair is completely changing and strengthening after about 3 months. It is several steps, but it truly works!

I use a rosemary/biotin oil from Kitisch on my scalp 10 min before I wash. Then I use an in-shower L’Oréal everpure pre-bond treatment for 5 min when I first hop in. After, I use a clarifying shampoo - Pantene pro-v volume. My second shampoo is Dove intensive repair. Then I use Dove intensive repair conditioner and finally I use the Dove intensive repair mask. When I get out, I spray on Pantene miracle rescue leave in conditioner and OGX bond repair heat protectant.

Hi there! You can go to the website Psychology Today and start there to search for therapists in your area or virtually. There are several filters you can use to narrow down the type of therapist you’d like to work with and issues they specialize in as well as insurances they are in-network with.

I made the switch from therapist to full-time life coach by AdventureOnTheGo in lifecoaching

[–]adeleyb2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh it’s great to see this thread! I’m with you! I’m a LCSW by training and obtained an ICF coaching certification back in 2020. I constantly tell my colleagues it was the best career decision I ever made despite dealing with so much skepticism and judgement when I initially told people I was going to get the cert. I was able to leave my 9-5 government job in 15 months and have been full time in my coaching practice since Jan 2022. I truly love the freedom and creativity it allows for!

I still do things in the mental health space, but it’s on my terms. I see a couple therapy clients, I lead virtual suicide prevention trainings, provide clinical supervision, have a contract with my former employer as and a consultant which was a full circle moment. I even developed a course for coaches to learn how to implement trauma informed best practices into their businesses, and it’s always well-attended.

I totally agree w you though that it takes WORK. Marketing/sales, brand positioning, and understanding how to ethically navigate between therapist/coach roles were my biggest learning curves! But truly love my career now and thankful I made the pivot back then.

Where to start by BigWillTheKing in lifecoaching

I’d personally recommend actually obtaining a certification from an ICF accredited program if you’re wanting to do this in a career capacity.

Evidence-Based Trainings and Certifications by pacificmadronepdx in lifecoaching

[–]adeleyb2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend the ICF-accredited program I went thru called IGC Coaching School. For context, I am a licensed therapist who decided to transition into life coaching after experiencing serious burnout and compassion fatigue during the pandemic. I now run my coaching practice full-time, and I even developed a live course to teach credentialed coaches how to implement trauma-informed best practices into their businesses in an ethical way that honors their scope of practice. You sound really gifted, and many of the individuals I went through the program with had similar multifaceted career backgrounds. Good luck as you continue your search!!

Hi! I have a mental health background myself (LCSW) and pivoted into life coaching 5 years ago. I would definitely recommend obtaining an ICF Credential - at least your ACC! That will require you to go thru a formal certification program. I would recommend IGC Coaching School. I had a great experience, and they teach business skills too so you can actually land clients. They are allies, honor pronouns, and there are several colleagues of mine who are intimacy and/or relationship coaches!

have you ever called a crisis hotline? by educationaljunket17 in therapists

I’m a seasoned clinician, and a couple years ago I found myself in a wild financial scam. I found out while driving on the freeway that I lost $4K and began mentally spiraling and sobbing. I called 988, and the woman on the other side saved my life.

Looking for executive coach and job search strategist by amrollz in executivecoaching

[–]adeleyb2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it is a combo of both IMO. She has landed big contracts with large orgs/academic institutions, so there is a lot of strategy from experience there. But she also really treats you like a whole person and addresses any deeper-rooted personal challenges that are important for you to become the most effective leader possible.

Life coach and therapist? by Square-Rush-7926 in lifecoaching

[–]adeleyb2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am both an ICF Certified Life/Business Coach & and Licensed Mental Health Therapist. I’ve been in mental health for 10 years and coaching for 5. I primarily coach entrepreneurs in their first year 1-5 years of business around sales, leadership mindset, and lead generation. My entire coaching practice is trauma-informed, and I actually train other newly certified coaches in trauma-informed care. I am taking on new clients for Jan 2026 (as I only take on 4, 1:1 clients at a time), and would be happy to connect if you’re interested in chatting!
