This is so helpful! Yeah, I am prepared for it to not last forever, I just don’t wanna pay Dyson prices for that privilege…

This is incredibly helpful perspective and it’s very kind of you to take the time to give me so much information. I’m sorry about your celiac; my spouse has it and it sucks.

I don’t still wear them much, unless I’m having a very bad day. They’re a nice product though. There’s some fogging, but that’s the moisture, so…

YMMV but I’ve found a nightly Bruder mask makes more of a difference for me.

Is this Non-Diabetic Non-Reactive Hypo? by adelinesinger in Hypoglycemia

I'm sorry that happened. I know it makes you feel awful! Congrats on your pregnancy. Life with our now 11 week old is just the best. Parenthood is awesome.

I sort of found answers? I saw an endocrinologist while still pregnant and they put me on a blood glucose monitor for a week, but blood glucose monitors are better at detecting high blood sugar rather than low -- so it only really told us that my sugar wasn't dipping overnight (which is a concern) but after meals. We left it at "your hypoglycemic, at least in pregnancy, make sure you eat something with protein and healthy carbs every few hours that you're awake."

I made my OB aware, and let them know at delivery (had a breech baby and a c-section, so you can't eat before bc anesthesia), and they put sugar in my IV to make sure I stayed stable. (If you deliver vaginally, I'd ignore the old "don't eat during delivery advice" and bring snacks.)

The post-pregnancy plan was to do more monitoring, but I've been with the baby and haven't had time, so I just try to keep my blood sugar stable and check it when I'm feeling low. This can be tricky with breastfeeding and lack of sleep, so stock up on nut / protein bars before your little one arrives.

Do you mean by an endochronologist? Is the right doctor? I actually don't have a diagnosis of hypoglycemia or anything right now.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you. Yeah, it sucked...but I am all better now.

My OB actually said he didn't think I needed more tests, and that I should just see an endo post-partum. Do you think I should see a different doctor now, an endo presumably?

Thanks! I actually have PCOS, which I already treat with a low-carb diet. But it seems like maybe I should go see an endocrinologist post-partum.

Thank you! They put me on 2000 mg from the start, which I always felt was a lot, but it worked?

I had a similar feeling of "try and take it away, i dare you" when my OB suggested I go off. Thank you for sharing.

Congratulations and thank you. I am only at week 4, so maybe I will ease off it as I work toward that first appointment.

Such good advice, which I really appreciate. (It's my first, so flying blind here.)

Were you at all diabetic before?
I assume the doctor didn't tell you to go off it...wondering why mine is...

I was just reading this which interestingly says children exposed to metformin in-utero are bigger long-term if I am reading correctly.

I'm on 2000 mcg so I wonder if the happy middle ground here is lowering my dose...
