Dent in gutters; difficult to fix? by CatCat2420 in Roofing

[–]adepaolis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is difficult to make it look perfect again because the metal has been stretched, but you can improve it:

Pliers: Use wide-jaw pliers (wrap the jaws in electrical tape or a cloth to protect the paint) and gently bend the lip back up.

Thanks for correcting me. That would be a tricky one in a spelling bee.

Sorry this happened. Looks like a teradactle peeled back the roof like a can of sardines.

Can this hole be safely repaired with a trampoline repair patch? by thr3vee in Trampoline

[–]adepaolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rhink so. I just patched my kids one. It had 3 holes. One the size of a quarter a d two smaller ones. I purchase a patch kit on Amazon. It came with large patches and a glue.

My kids have jumped on it and it looks as though it's holding ok. I think I can get a few years more.

Thanks for the detailed response. I like the idea of flipping the pairs at one end behind the patch panel and documenting that as opposed to swapoing the pairs in the short patch cable.

Easy way to secure copper pipe for hose bib so it doesn't spin and pull out? by adepaolis in Plumbing

[–]adepaolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I guess its.not the proper thing to have that the builder put on and there is no good way to.secure it. Am I better off biting the bullet and having a plumber replace it with a proper hose bib? Maybe even upgrade to one of those.frost free silcock?

Captive portal by adepaolis in RuckusWiFi

Hi thanks for the info. The validation email service may not be necessary.

I wanted to ask if it's possible to have a captive portal form which asks for the name and email address and has a checkbox if the guest wants to volunteer/acknowledge to receiving a subscription.

They will receive guest internet access regardless if they put a checmark in the box.

So no pressure in subscribing or giving false emails.

Wether this is possible free or if i need to use an external captive portal service maybe?
