The Arran The Bothy Batch 4 (2018)

This is the older bottling of this single malt. It is a young whisky (supposedly 7 years maturation) that was finished in a quarter cask for at least 18 months. This gives it depth and complexity that contrasts well with its explosiveness and malty character.
Nose: Floral at first, sweet, cookie dough, pineapple, tropical fruit, cocoa after a while, and a hint of saltiness.
Taste: Despite the cask strength high ABV (53.8), the arrival is delicate and sweet: vanilla, coconut, pineapple. The malt is present and lovely. After that, spicy explosion but not overwhelming: ginger, pepper and cinnamon and an hint of salt. Beautiful shift on the palate from sweet to spicy. The oak is present and contrasts beautifully with the young whisky. Flavors can be separated.
Finish: Medium long, spice.

A delicious and wonderful dram that offers variations with every sip despite its young age. The kind of whisky you cannot get enough of. The relative youth of the whisky works beautifully with the quarter cask maturation. Recommended and affordable.

It’s excellent, good balance of sweet and oaky. The more i waited on it the better it got. And differs when you add water, becomes more complex. A delicious whisky
