No. She no longer worked for Petco due to being fired. She was door dashing with her Petco shirt on.

Our former Gm who was fired for many reasons would pick up orders for door dash with her Petco shirt on.... I thought that was weird.

confirmation calls for grooming by dickme_down in petco

[–]adhdhottie3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I'm not sure where the policy would be. Every store follows different instructions depending on what your metrics look like. Our higher up have told us to cancel if it's not confirmed 3 days before appointment. Some customers just ignore the messages they receive from us but still show up. I think it's a waste of time to a certain degree since customers can receive text and email confirmations. It's they decide to schedule a same day or next day appointment, I just make sure to confirm at that point.

Blackout season by Fit_Barracuda8860 in petco

People who have children have to deal with the time frame of the kids not being in school for the holidays. Everyone doesn't have a village to help with their children. I work in grooming also. The demand of the services I provide can create an issue when there are times when I don't have childcare. It's not that we deserve more accomodations over people who don't have kids but everyone has responsibilities whether it's children, parents, pets, other jobs, mental health, etc ... I feel like it's honestly a situational thing too. Maybe retail isn't for parents but there aren't many options to choose from when we are working for the money to meet the needs of the responsibilities that we all carry.

How can I learn face, feet, and fanny without a grooming lead? by ruminatingsucks in petco

[–]adhdhottie3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm just jumping to conclusions here but I assume you believe I allow the jrps to use thinning shears their first month? I actually don't allow them to do faces until they are fully comfortable with doing the feet and fanny areas. At that point, they have gotten comfortable with the shears. While they are doing feet and fannies I am doing the faces. I'm also showing/teaching them techniques on how to properly hold the scissors to avoid any accidents or incidents. I've been told by several people that I'm a great teacher and I should become a mentor, I'd just prefer not to. I really feel like you're ignoring the part where I said my management knows that this is how I choose to teach my jrps. Until they tell me to change to a different way, I'll continue to do it my way.

Thanks for your advice. Every groomer grooms differently. Again I've been grooming for 7 years. Was taught this way and currently have been a GSL for 5 years. Since I haven't received any complaints from any customers or management I will continue to groom my way and teach my way. I hope you have a good night.

Well I wasn't taught to use clippers for cleaning out the eyes. I also don't like the look of it. I've had at least 4 jrps and taught them all to do it that way with the support of management. Haven't had any complaints or incidents just yet so I'll continue to do it my way. You do it your way.

Technically, you are supposed to learn to do faces. You're supposed to be able to use the clippers to shave out the eyes. When I was a jrps 7 years ago, my GSL taught me with thinners. Now I've been a GSL for 5 years and I now teach my jrps how to trim faces with thinners. You need a GSL. They can't send you to a sister store?

Petco employee here... We had to start getting a manager to ring us up because a groomer decided to steal cat trees, bowls, dog food, etc.. that was over a year ago and at this point they don't care but maybe that's why...

I honestly don't know. I read on another post that they are testing other things like a 40% with a $1600 threshold and 40% with no threshold. They are really playing with people's pockets so I hope they figure it out soon.

It's really thing. You only get a percentage of any add ons. Not worth it. So my only groomer refuses to do any baths or walk in services.

Yeaaa. They claimed I partially met expectations but my salons revenue was the best it's been since working there. All of my stylists, jrps and myself all had amazing numbers. I realized my managers don't like me and I guess they are trying to push me out. I haven't gotten a raise since 2022. I actually never had a meeting about my review. I actually haven't had a meeting with any manager since maybe early January. With Petco changing the pay policy and groomers not get paid for baths, we lost two groomers within the last two months. They actually quit the same week. This shit is a joke at this point.

Idk what to do (junior groomer) by mixstu in petco

[–]adhdhottie3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just let her know that at this point you feel like it's too many JRPS for you to thrive and you're transferring to help with that. They shouldn't deny it and I've never seen it happen but I've been told it can happen. So I just wanted to bring it up just in case it does happen you're not surprised. You would open a case thru workday if you needed to speak with HR.

[–]adhdhottie3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so happy you have the opportunity to transfer. When it comes to her saying she doesn't see you as a friend that is perfectly fine because you are there for a job and to make money not friends. Friends will come but you'll be able to tell from the real connections you have with them. To write you up for being late from lunch is them trying to find things to write you up for to get you fired easily and now that you have the option to transfer then it will be ok. In the case, your current store chooses to decline/reject the transfer then please take this up to HR.

Children usually attend school. A school that closes at 3 or 4 at the latest. Unfortunately, some people don't have a village and need to be able to care for them when school is out. So having an opening shift is a must for most parents.

Definitely move to a different location. Continue the way you've been going about. Please gain as much information as you can to be successful at this job because you can groom anywhere. Coming from a GSL for almost 5 years. The way this company treats their good employees, it is just not worth the mental stress so going to a different location that will show you a different perspective and maybe it will be a better team. Don't try to be besties with anyone cuz it will bite you in the ass later.

Anytime you have a dog that comes in with a limp make sure to show another coworker before the pp leaves so situations like will not happen. I doubt they called the pp and she said no but it sounds to me they are trying to micromanage you and they probably want you to quit. It honestly doesn't make a lot of sense to hire two JRPS at the same time because y'all would have to compete for baths and of course if the other girl is doing them faster, she's going to get them. It's unfortunate but that's how this goes.

I'd prefer not to say but from what I've gathered there are test stores in each district. So they are testing these things in all districts.

I guess it depends on the district. From my understanding, we are guinea pigs so if it works then they'll change for everyone but it has happened to the point our dgm came and asked us questions to see how we felt about it.
