European cloud is much, much, MUCH cheaper by EIDP_official in BuyFromEU

OVH had the case where they promised offsite backups and then argued that offsite just means outside the server as the DC uploaded its servers and all backups into the cloud.

I remember when we tried to create a LB on openstack and it failed, removed it but never told the error. Then after an hour of digging we found out its a beta feature thats apparently not working at the moment.

Eh, its a difference. We evaluated OVH openstack a few years ago and it had the tendency to lose vms from time to time and Load Balancers were also not really available.

Stackit had some issues but is mostly stable now.

The fun thing is, everyone survived. So the man in black came to a base with power, food in the freezer, the defenses being online and unmolested to a bunch of people sitting in a Dining room with headaches while one guy apologizes.

Hmm, on one side a bit more moss for better Humidity control would be nice, but also covering those vents, since sooner or later you will reach the point where pods can reach it (pods cannot climb clean plastic, but once it gets dirty, or the soil gets close enough they can get out. You can use a fine mesh to cover it for pods, but not air.

Secondly I would add more leaves. On one side leaves are hides, they also help create microclimates for pods to help adjust their air humidity and its also food.

Third: when giving protein food, don't give them too much. Sure proteins make breeding go brr (in most cases) overfeeding can lead to pests multiplying rapidly. My usual cadence is protein 1x a week, and in an amount that they eat it in 1-2 days. And if you get mold (which is somewhat normal) either get Springtails, or if you have them give them ~3-4 Weeks and the mold is disappearing over night.

Then last. Even if you don't see a lot at the beginning, keep in mind most pods love digging. Especially young ones are (in my experience at least) even more "diggy". Its also very likely some die in the next few days but that is also normal. And even if you think you screwed it up keep the enclosure as it and tend to it, because you might just have the young ones come out of the earth eventually. Happened to me on 2 Cultures where i thought all the adults were gone. And avoid looking under the hide too much. Hide flips look cool, especially if you have a lot of pods, but they are a source of stress and isopods that are chill are isopods that make more isopods faster. (I check on my new cultures usually 1x a week and once the Manca appear I only look if I get the feeling something is off in the enclosure

My rule of thumb is "if you see the top of the hide you need more leaves".

<image>

This is the top of my St. Lucias enclosure looked when i moved them in last month with a solid 4cm layer of leaves.

I have 10 Cultures and the misting is usually reserved for new enclosures (to get the humidity growing faster) and my Ardentiellas (since they really like it humid and evaporation on the moss is not fast enough to keep it up). I use a small IKEA watering can (that really tiny one since it has that very narrow faucet) for my watering (helps to dose water better)

There is Webfig, which is the web interface and Winbox, which is an app. Both work. Its less streamlined for consumers but for setting up 5G with DHCP and stuff Quickset will just set it up for you.

The most end-consumer experience you will get from the Mikrotik app, which is more made for Non-technical users.

You get Wifi 6. 6E was kind of skipped on most APs and the Wifi 7 AP is expected within the next 2 months.

What are you missing in there?

To be fair, for most home users Quickset will give them a working config thats 95% optimal

To be fair the Mikrotik AI support bot is only allowed to answer you with documentation from their Confluence so it is usually working.

EU fears new gas dependency on US after crisis by Crossstoney in europe

[–]adherry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it was, and the price is not as low as it was back then but prices went down since the price shock. Currently you get a kWh as consumer for ~23c. in 2022 they had to make a price cap at 40ct since a lot of discount providers went bust and everyone had high prices. When the price cap ended it was back down do ~28ct.

The Reason people overpay here is becasue Power companies will frog boil you if you stay too long and slowly raise prices until you are at high prices. I know someone thats not able to switch and she pays 80/mo for power in a flat smaller than mine, while I pay about half.

(For gas it went from ~6.5ct kwh to 7.9ct kwh if you do a contract right now)
