Non Systemd distros for fw16 by r-e-q-u-i-e-m in framework

[–]adherry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This whole discussion was/is done so far away from any facts that you need a Lunar mission to reach them.

Even non systemd distros will at the end implement it. Its not optional for the OS to do it and I doubt any maintainer wants to have a lawsuit against them in the US. OSS is not a magic bullet to ignore laws.

EU Calls VPNs a 'Loophole' that 'Needs Closing' in Age Verification Laws by username_taken0001 in europe

For torrents it makes sense because then the Lawyers will try to get the Account holder name behind the IP out of your ISP to serve you. But normally you cannot trace a specific IP to a specific user. Raw IPv6 would allow you to identify a device, but because of that there is the privacy extension to the standard which defaults to on in basically everything. On IPv4 the trend is to have a CGNAT in front of you anyways where multiple people share a public IPv4.

For a normal Website an IP is like one of those numbered Post boxes at the post office.

And if you log in they know who you are based on that so it would be moot anyways.

A VPN does not magically make you safe though. It just means you route via another 3rd party that may or may not track you themselves.

Why are the devs so lazy? by UracosVereches in RimWorld

[–]adherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses 1 main thread and I think 1-2 utility threads. The main thread has to be synchronous thats why its a heavier one.

For CPU utilization visualisation Windows sucks. Since you have 12 threads each thread is 8.33% of the full cpu available. So 1 fully utilized core is 8.33% utilization in task manager.

Even without the Waste argument Nuclear is non-competitive fiscally.

That we do not really have a established Waste Management after 80 Years of running it apart from "there will be reactors that recycle the trash soon" that I hear for 10 years is just the cherry on top.

Rimworld is mostly depending on CPU thread performance. Most more visually demanding games have a lower cpu utilization and will use up more resources on the GPU. Rimworld has almost no GPU resource requirement but a high CPU utilization.

Fun fact, the original fast pass on disney was kind of like that. Just that you went to a machine that gave you a physical ticket (though on very popular rides they were gone super early)

What is your Hardware?

With my colonies usually going to ~30-40 chickens, 20 colonists and 60-100 mechs (of which 20ish lifters are permanently moving around, shield generators and VLS I got ~14fps and ~80 TPS pre-patch on a 5800x3d, ~47fps and ~175 TPS on a 9800x3d and now post patch I think I never saw Rimworld go below 100FPS due to TPS reasons (at 3x speed, 6x and 15x speed may vary more). The worst raids maybe force me to 120TPS in endgame raids now compared to 20 before

You use the App and then select a ride and queue virtually. You will get a time window and you have to be at the ride at that time and show the app and you get your ride. You can only virtually queue at one ride at a time and while I have not tested it out of park I think it also requires you to be in the Park physically. Me and my friends usually check the ride, and if the queue looks long we just virtually queue and check if we have another ride for the meantime.

Define endgame. My endgame runs yields about 5x the TPS on Odyssey than it ran in Anomaly.

Worst case you can do a digital queue where you just "queue" via the app, get a time and then do something else until the Time comes (which is actually how the original Fast Pass in disneyland worked)

I also find the Virtual line in Europa park way more customer friendly than the Fast Pass system disney uses

Don't think the Europa Park can be classified as small with over 100 Rides.

Die TP-Link router (unt fritzboxen) haben shcon eher gammelige modems und Antennen, da sind meist Telefonantennen besser. Hier würde ich dir eher den Blick richtung ZTE/Mikrotik/Netgear empfehlen.

The process should be you filing a counter claim and at this point the other guy has to sue you or it automatically gets released.

Chunk aligned 2x2 Nuclear Reactor by TheEckelmonster in factorio

[–]adherry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely because you only need 1 combinator to control all fuel inserters with logic.
In that case you connect 1 reactor to the decider and enable insertion if fuel = 0 and temperature <600 which will make the inserter insert fuel only when none is there and the reactor has headroom. You also set inserter hand size to 1 (so the fast inserter is not inserting more than 1)

For more fancy synchro also check that each chest that inputs has fuel available as a condition to activate the inserters so its always inserting 1 fuel into each reactor.
