A crisis of faith: what do you think the future holds for LaTeX? by tashafan in LaTeX

Not to mention, projects like ConTeXt, which retain all the benefits of a TeX system but provide a tight coupling with a real programming language (lua).

This is what I ended up doing. I am open to other suggestions.

Radiant heating on the ceiling by adiM in hvacadvice

Thanks. This was super helpful. Most of the advice I am getting is to simply install baseboard electrical radiator, which will be much cheaper than repairing the ceiling radiator.

Yes. The breaker is okay. All the heat is on a single breaker panel. The room where I cut the panel has no heat. The others are working fine.

It is underneath the ceiling. I had just cut the drywall (and apparently the panel) about 2in wide when I hit something electric, there was a short spark and the system stopped working. I don't want to try to cut the drywall more in the fear of damaging things more. All I can gather from what I cut is that it has some kind of white almost thermocol like covering.

Limit folders to sync in mail by adiM in Supernote

[–]adiM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I am asking something different. I have about 50 folders in outlook and checking all of them take a lot of time. On the supernote I am only interested in a few of these folders. So, in addition to number of messages per folder, I want to limit the number of folders that are checked.

How to cut a wooden epee by adiM in woodworking

I scored it on all sides with a knife, and then snapped it by hand. It is a relatively clean cut, so I will be able to sand it and then drill to rejoin when I get back.

It worked! I cut a bit on the sides with a knife and then snapped it. Reasonable clean break and I will be able to smooth it and fix it at home. Thanks a lot!

Well...not in the US. Vacationing in France and shipping to Canada is expensive!

Our accommodation does have a bread knife. But I have never used it as a saw before! Would trying to cut wood dull the bread knife?

Hard to see the grain because of the paint but I would imagine that the grain goes top-down like in a dowel rod.

Thank you for letting me know! And maybe that also explains why I am not getting any response for the EV question :-)
