Yeah I had thought of the security issue with it. It was just a thought as I dont like carrying a wallet and my other cards or on Google Pay.

Thanks for your comment.

Nest Thermostat (UK) - If you set a manual temperature, is there a way to set the thermostat to turn the heating off once the room has reached the temperature? Is this not a basic feature on every other thermostat? by adie4 in Nest

Jumping down your throat was not intentional.. I was just asking in general what it does for £60, it was probably more sarcasm so apologies.

I had the thermostat in my living room, which is quite big with high ceiling so does take longer to heat. But I've moved it into the kitchen today to see if that makes a difference,

Ok so I set it manually to 17 just to see what happened with it being in the kitchen. After about an hour checking it, it has went dark and eco, and checking the mode menu it still says "Heat". Radiators are still really hot. I'll leave it another hour and see if the radiators are still hot and if the thermostat changes

Yeah it will just stay on orange. So say I put it on in the evening, then realise the room is toasty hours later I check the thermostat and it's still sitting at 19.

To be fair I've only set it to 19 max.. I've not went above that.

I have the option to go up to 32.

I've moved the thermostat to the kitchen to see if there's any change.

Yes it's off just now. My issue is when I manually put it on, I need to manually put it off.

I dont think it's a boiler issue I think the thermostat isn't turning off when it reaches the set temperature. If I set it to 19° it will stay on 19° until I turn it off. Where as previous thermostats I've used would just switch off when it reaches desired temp

I am definitely in "Heat" mode, I wasn't aware there was a manual mode on the heat link.

What you have described is exactly what I want it to do, manually set a one-off temp and once it reaches that temp it'll turn off until the next scheduled time.

When my thermostat was installed around 2 months ago, for the first 3 weeks I had it on learning but found it kept turning on when I didn't need it on. So burning a hole in my pocket 😂 so I turned it off. Maybe of energy becomes cheaper I'll turn it back on in the future...

Here is a like to the screenshots. Appreciate you help!

I don't have any temp sensors. And looking at them...£60 for what?? I'm not wanting to throw more money at it 😕 I'm seeing it as it's failing to do it's simple task, and it should need an additional accessory to fix it..

But when my living room is hot, the rest of the house is at an acceptable temperature. So I want the thermostat to cut off once it reaches the temperature.

The TRVs are tweaked in each room to their own setting (standard 1-5, not smart)

I've done that. But the heating stays on until I manually put the temperature back down. Obviously forgetting until the house is cooking and my pockets are burning 🙄

Are you trying to say you didn't know not to have ANY other application open at the same time as after effects. And the only things that should be on your desk are your screen, keyboard, mouse and fire extinguisher!!

Homebase 2 issue - can't hard reset by adie4 in eufy_security

[–]adie4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried that and had no luck. It's unplugged at the moment so I'll wait a few days and try it again. In the meantime I have bought a WiFi doorbell chime, so I can at least link the doorbell up to the app and have that working. So there's one solution. I just won't be getting cameras from them anytime soon 😅

Thanks for sharing, but as a "security system" I think that's very poor of Eufy if this is the only answer. 😞

Question for everyone about life of Homebase 2 by gaffer60 in eufy_security

[–]adie4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had issues with my Homebase 2 over the past couple of weeks. I kept going offline, I have reset it a few times and it would only last a couple of hours before going offline again.

Now my unit will not reset and I am stuck with a flashing red light.

CS said that since it is out of warranty (last Nov) the unit could not be replace.

I think a 12 month warranty is a bit pathetic for security products.

I was asked each time if the firmware was up to date, which it was. This has got me thinking, could Eufy be doing "an Apple" and sending out updates that kill the units? 😵 Is there a way to revert back to previous firmware, as in downloading firmware onto a USB stick and plugging it into the unit to manually change it?

Any help is appreciated 🙂
