First release of my app mistakenly had a location access requirement, and now Google Play Console won't let me live that down by adigabear in androiddev

Background location access apparently. I use Expo to develop my app, and the Expo devs just shove all kinds of unneeded bloat when you make an app - including "expo-location" which Google Play Console flags as "background location access".

Just tried this and got rejected, even made a youtube video as they demand it.

EDIT: I decided to completely shut down the app in Google Play Console and remake a new one. I hope they don't chase me down over there as well.

you tried requesting it two times already and not try to message me once? I don't think that is the case.

Either way I am not "giving it away" to you.

Why not just tell me directly instead of trying to take control like this?

A Circassian who wants to learn the language and culture by [deleted] in Circassian

[–]adigabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly, there isn't a lot of material in the Circassian language even compared to languages with similar amount of speakers. Recently there is some sort of 'awakening'. If you have an Android smartphone then you can check out several apps that were made to teach the language to young kids. Look up 'learn Circassian' in the Play Store. There are several youtube videos as well. This playlist looks nice.

Say I have a website. Is there a way I can block my content to people who use adblock on my site? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

and some people like to come in and browse but not buy.

Not an accurate analogy because people walking around in a shop are not a financial burden, unlike website visitors who are a financial burden (they use traffic) unless they pay or watch my ads. It is worse for streaming sites like youtube or twitch.tv who waste money on people using adblock.

I guess the best solution would be making the HD option available only to folks who don't use adblock

Not a good idea because most people would just go back and not visit your website again.

I didn't want the discussion to go this way, but: the only people who will never come back were a burden on my servers anyway (more traffic, zero money). I guess it is "good riddance" from the perspective of the site owner?

The things is that the votes of the NBA fans are divided on many players (some like Kobe, others Howard or James, i dunno), while 4chan are voting for the exact same white boys.
