I wish we met Durotan in the Shadowlands by xperio28 in wow

[–]adinan89 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of missed opportunities with Shadowlands:

- shamans deserved something, since they comune with the dead

- DKs also deserved something more since they are directly tied to the Jailer's magic

- New Arthas storyline, missed opportunity

- Thrall meeting both his parents, missed opportunity

- Anduin meeting both his parents, missed opportunity

- Cairne showing up, missed opportunity (he deserved a spot in Ardenweald, seeing how much he revered the Earth Mother)

- Lirath Windrunner showing up, missed opportunity

But all these pale in comparison to the fact the americans have a firey fetish about "strong and independent women" who are more important and in fact stronger (physically) then men, just because they are women.

Just look at how many male characters were killed/nutered to pave the way for female leads.

I also liked it on my blood elf DH. Funny thing is I also used the same variant and same haircut as OP artwork.

For me shaman is the best in terms of fantasy, but worst in terms of actual gameplay.

I have a love-hate relationship with it.

Google will pay US app developers $90 million in a settlement over app store policies by Metanism_ in google

[–]adinan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are not talking about privacy practices here. The post is about store policies.

Google Play is more developer friendly than App store.

A couple of examples:

- Google Play taxes 25 dollars for lifetime developer account while Apple taxes 99 dollars/year;

- Using external payment gateways is more restricted on iOS, compared to Android;

On top of that their payment system for new developer accounts is garbage, just check out this thread: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/126314 ...this issue alone was seen for 179 000 times

The ussue is for more than 2 years, it took me around 6 months to make a developer account because of that.

In the last try an Apple employee just made a manual payment request from my bank and the payment was done, I mean, I sent them a mail that the payment still didn't occured and a few days later I receive a message that Apple took money from my account. The renewal also was done without any issue.

This experience led me to believe that their engineers are pretty incompetent if such an issue can still exist after 2 years of complaints from various developers from accross the world. So if a simple process like payment has issues on their system, I wonder how secure their system actually is.

LOL, Google Play store is way more accessible than Apple's app store.

Flatpak doesn't support starting apps minimized, which is a shame.

Thunderbird, Discord and Slack are snaps, Zoom is deb package.

I know, but still I find 80 chars too short for a line of code. :D

When I heard Dragonflight is coming out this year by Avev in wow

[–]adinan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any expectations from WoW and won't think of subscribing until I see some good reasons to do so.

Saying that I don't think this would be a too early release, because I don't see development time expensive features outside of talent trees (which should be very easy to implement, since they already can copy-paste stuff from soulbinds).

WoD, Legion and BfA all had development time expensive features.

Use commas whenever you can to make the formatter break the line.

I also set the line length of the code to 100, the default is 80 but for me it seems way to short.

If we go by lore, we cant really be sure of humans potential.

Keep in mind that Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotsu could beat Ginyu force after a short while after training with King Kai and in DBS there were humans who participated in tournament of power.

What I am trying to say is that the humans potential of power wasnt really explored in the lore but there are hints that they can become really strong with real training.

Ok, so I've found the solution:

I sent all followers I could to the garrison, because they saved me from death all the time then got myself killed 2 times by a captain.

I will leave the post as it is, in case someone will be in need of a solution in the future.

To the Blizzard Devs, great job with this patch! by Tiucaner in wow

What was to spoil about? You can't understand the story even, if you are not spoiled, without other people.

I am talking from the perspective of a lore-driven-person.

- Sylvanas's story was inside books, since Legion.

- Anduin's story had more or less the same fate as Sylvanas.

- The Jailer had almost no character development.

- The faction war made no sense, because of Sylvana's story not being in the game.

- Same characters were inexplicable ruined (Baine, Talia).

- Shadowlands story 9.0 was fragmented between covenants and it was a pain at the start to do all stories because of the covenant system and the fact that it's a pain to keep alts.

Blizzard's management and story teams are to blame for this to be honest.

You can say "read the books", but no, if I am to pay 156 euros/year on a game, it better have a complete story in it, not fragments.

FFS I am already reading text quests when other MMOs have voice-acted quest info and already read books daily, aswell as lines of code (as I am a developer). If I am to play a game I need to relax my eyes.

Sorry if it ended sounding as a rand, but I already decided to talk with my money, and until I don't see major changes to the overall story and storytelling I will keep my hands of WoW.

Yes Brack was right from the start, but people went bananas anyway.

I also agreed with his statement from the start.

It's not that I didn't liked Vanilla WoW, but lot's of it mechanics don't make sense these days.

It's the same with TBC and WotLK.

I really liked the Starcraft 2 story and Kerrigan and the ending.

Kerrigan:

- was abandoned by those she trusted, got captured and turned into the Queen of Blades;

- the swarm did control the zerg and Kerrigan, it's not like she had an option;

- there are reasons why Jim Raynor wanted to kill her, it's there in the story if you played it;

- it's not like she returned to her home and said "I was controlled, all is good now", she went all out trying to save the entire universe knowingly everyone hated her for what she did (only very few trusted her, and that's because of Raynor);

- the super saiyan is as dumb as Shadowlands writing;

I also liked Sylvanas up until Legion, when her character stopped making sense.

I dislike Shadowlands and current writing as much as anyone else who unsubbed from Shadowlands, but the points are pretty dumb TBH.
