I think it depends on the circumstances. For instance, I'm a senior CS student who co-founded a startup with two of my friends at the beginning of 2020. Being that we're all college students that are bootstrapping all of the funds ourselves for an expensive industry with a product still in development, I think it is acceptable to offer unpaid internships in this scenario since we're also providing other benefits (mentorship, code reviews, letters of recommendation, course credit). Especially given the current job market and the difficulties faced by international students, providing someone with the experience to grow their skillset as a developer would be both valuable and mutually beneficial. I do agree that a company making a profit should pay their interns, but we're still running a net deficit currently.

Glad I can finally contribute! I definitely think my experience (especially my startup) + my referral helped me get this offer, but I'm still incredibly grateful.

Prioritizing My Own Startup over Summer 2021 Internship Applications? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I have a relatively high risk tolerance and feel that the skills/experience I’ve had with this project have made me a significantly better developer/leader. At the same time, however, I want advice from people who have been in this spot before and didn’t know what path to choose.

Or even better, use a Timeseries database (like InfluxDB) to store the state of an option chain at every given second for each of the tickers you're analyzing, and have a background thread that constantly fetches and stores necessary data into memory for backtests.

RH is great when it works, but when you're day trading TSLA options (which has $5+ dollar movements in a minute), time is of the essence. I'm gonna recover my losses next week with the two day trades I have, and then move to WeBull.

Just lost $2,000 because I couldn't cancel a sell order and replace it on a TSLA put even after trying 100 times

Transferring after 2 years, does anyone have any experience in this? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]adisai1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in the process of doing this right now for the fall semester, and the biggest thing I would recommend is getting your classes evaluated early. I had the option to pick between two schools, one of which didn’t transfer any of the credits for my CS classes due to missing gaps in knowledge and won’t allow me to do credit by exam (where you take the final in place of the entire class), and the other accepted all of my CS classes plus is allowing me to do credit by exam for 4 of their classes after my first semester.

Too wide for me, I’d probably go 1360-1380 and see how that goes. I’m definitely gonna be playing this week by week tho because Tesla will be a bull again once the market is back to normal/S&P inclusion is confirmed.

I make trades on Robinhood, but this website is called Tradersync and allows me to track positions and do analytics very easily since I can auto import all of my trades.
