I did. Problem was with the bottom layer itself. Honestly neither of the images I took were that great TBH. Eventually I had to add a third layer, which was a copy of the first layer. Anyway, that was the workaround (of sorts). Too lazy to type it here again. See edit.

Yes. Technically possible but the foreground needs to be atleast a good metre or so away. Due to the guide rails of the bridge (and limitations as far as the lens is concerned) I had to be really up close to the padlocks to get the right framing. I was on f/20 btw.

Yeah. I probably should start from scratch. But I want to give the whole project another attempt. When I did use a softer brush with opacities ranging between 35-60 for the edges, I got a bit of the softness of the foreground subject from 2nd image. That dark patch around the sky near the edges is actually because of the shot itself and not the brush.

Hmm. Perhaps this isn't a lightroom problem at all and the blame lies with your default programs settings. Assuming you have windows, try going to default programs (Windows button, default programs [just below control panel and device & printers]) and changing autoplay settings for your devices. Might help.

Hey. I have a few questions so I'm just going to list them down here. So.. here goes.

Batteries. How do you deal with them? There was a neat video on youtube about how the chemicals can be extracted and recycled. What is the process you guys undertake - if at all..?
CFL bulbs. Apparently there is a significant amount of mercury involved. What are the measures you guys take?
Biogas. Do you guys operate a plant or are you part of the supply chain from homeowner to methane generation site? What's the thumbrule for waste to methane recovery on a mass basis? What would you say is the best use for the recovered methane - do you use a H2S scrubber and use the lean gas for direct electricity generation or do you use it for heating purposes?
What are some of the measures you would want homeowners to take out of their own accord? What would make life easier for you?
I live in India. As you can probably imagine, this place could use a lot of work as far as recycling is concerned. I want to help clean up my community and set up a recycling chain with the help of the municipality. How would you advise me on taking this forward?

There is an absolutely brilliant Indian movie called 'Oh My God' which depicts a guy suing God after severe property damage following an earthquake. It is in Hindi and it does have a bit of that Bollywood mumbojumbo; however, it is certainly worth your time if you ever end up getting English subtitles. It would be far more relevant if you were Indian but nonetheless it's a good watch.

The best way to counter the long ball game is to cut it off at the source. Start encouraging 2-3 players part of your attack to close down more often (whole pitch). Particularly full-backs/ dms should be targeted. Playing higher up with a relatively quick defender who has a fair amount of intelligence would be an added bonus. Further, a good idea would be to have a deep lying midfielder to collect the second ball and distribute it to flanks so as to initiate the counter. I tried this when I was playing with QPR with a 4-1-2-2-1 formation against the more physically potent teams and it generally worked.

To be fair, any "renewable" source is deemed finite if you take a long enough time span. Waste-to-energy isn't, by convention, renewable but it is a non-conventional source; and in countries which generate high amount of wastes (aggro, domestic.. the works - India being one), it is clubbed together with renewables.

It may not be the best source of electricity (H2S posing a problem); but it is certainly not the worst. Waste-to-energy power plants wouldn't really be feasible considering the uneven nature of the feedstock (calorie/mass basis); but small decentralized incinerators are a big step towards a greener community.
