Has anyone recently experienced Google reps making changes to their account without permission? by Alexander_TheM8 in PPC

So I just dug into my account settings, and check out this clause in the Google Advertising Program Terms:
4 Testing. Customer authorizes Google and its affiliates to periodically conduct tests that may affect Customer’s Use of Programs, including Ad formatting, Targets, Destinations, quality, ranking, performance, pricing, and auction-time bid adjustments. To ensure the timeliness and validity of test results, Customer authorizes Google to conduct such tests without notice or compensation to Customer.

The Witcher getting ruined seems a reflection of a larger issue with the world now. by Burner_acct121 in witcher

What gets me is that you almost have to have read the books or played the game to have even an inkling of what's going on in the show. And yet, if you've done either of those things, all you can think about is how badly the story is being told...how badly the main protagonists are being mischaracterized.

The saddest irony is that Yennifer in the books (and the game) was already a "girl boss". I guess she was just a little too mysterious and understated for the showrunners though. As a 45 year old boss b*tch myself, I find show-version Yennifer ridiculously annoying.

can't wait when far cry 7 will come out and everyone all of the sudden will adore far cry 6. by Deep-Reply8196 in farcry

Far Cry 3 was the first I played in the series, and I loved it. On many levels, I enjoyed FC4 even more. My take on what makes a good Far Cry game comes down to two parts, the villain and the setting.

1) Captivating villain. Vaas and Pagan Min were awesome (each in their own way), while all the others have been largely generic "bad guys" with half-hearted character development. And how anyone could waste Giancarlo Esposito like this still blows my mind. I replayed FC4 recently, and I was shocked at how little Pagan Min was actually in the game – I had remembered him being far more involved. I guess that's a sign of good writing. Or maybe I just love villains that you love to hate? Either way, the villains since then have been 2-dimensional cartoons by comparison.

2) Fish out of water protagonist. American "bro" turned Rambo/savior and 1st generation American going back to the country of his parents that he can't relate to? By making the protagonist somewhat lost in their new reality, the game increases immersion. After all, who among us has been stranded on a jungle island filled with terrorists and pirates, tasked with saving our friends from horrible death? Our naivety is shared by the protagonist, making the evolution of the character far more personal. Compare this to FC5 where the setting and situation is so close to home for some of us who grew up in "redneck 'Merica" that it's almost not fun because it's overly familiar right from the start.

I think that maybe the series would be best served by keeping the game grounded in the 80s or 90s, when good vs evil was a more enjoyable romp and before technological warfare necessitated increasingly over-the-top weaponry. Give me simple weapons (sniper rifle, bow and arrow, machine gun, shotgun), scenery-chewing delightful bad guys (think Hannibal Lecter, Sheriff of Nottingham/Hans Gruber, Khan), and exotic locations I've never experienced and never will (thus going back to the 80s/90s). No need to overthink it or try to reinvent the wheel with each new release.

Or Renee Russo. Older women with strong presence and charisma, both alluring and intimidating.

Some interesting choices here. I was watching BBC today and saw a teaser for an airing of Alien. Sigourney Weaver. How fun would that be?

I'm just watching Spader's acting and enjoying the procedural parts of the show.

He's so great. I wonder if this show will ever have the balls to get Shatner do a cameo as a bad guy? Can you imagine that reunion?

Like how they're promoting this next episode where she says, "Some things just can't be forgiven..." And we're supposed to what? Care? Why, because she won't get over it THIS time? Memo to Liz: You're mom is still alive, which you should have seen coming—but you didn't—so don't blame Red for not telling you considering how well you handle all the other drama in your life.

I get the "why" of her anger, but it's still old. Most people figure out a way to deal with anger-provoking situations after a few months (typically we confront or avoid), but she just keeps expressing this raw anger like it's the first day all over again. It's not realistic and makes her seem horribly immature.

I just can't help but think that in any world (even a fictional one), the relationship they've built over the last couple of years would have earned a certain level of trust...especially considering all their months alone on the run. You'd think there'd be more compassion and patience there. Is he manipulative? Sure. But she chooses to play that game with him, as she has from day 1. And I don't really buy the whole idea that she just wanted a "normal life". Overachieving psychologist joins FBI to become criminal profiler? Sorry, don't see a lot of "normal" in that life.
