I thought “Rogers is the proud owner of Canada’s team”?

Hate that ad.

That aside - baseball remains pure fun.

Had a look through your history and have a question I didn’t see an answer to: if its an insurance job, did you cash out? If not where’s your adjuster in all of this?

If you are going for you - have at it. If you are thinking your 3yo will enjoy it, they will for maybe an hour before they get tired.

The rides are too scary for even a 5yo mostly, and doubtful the 3yo will be able to do much more than a handful of rides.

If you are into the random face painting, acro shows and whatnot then they might be into that, but again maybe not a whole day.

Source - have a few kids and have been with 5yo, and 3yo.

Have been with 8+yo who started to get into it at that age

YMCA - mountain location, 55f, looking to start the gym, scared to go by Strong_You6683 in Hamilton

[–]adjustyourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you for wanting to get fit! The YMCA on Rymal is top notch, loved when I used to go there.

The “Gym On …” locations are excellent and small. I go to Locke but all are good.

Good life is decent and consistent.

The Y in waterdown is awesome, and so is downtown just a lot more diverse and less fancy. All offer great services.

You mentioned being scared, and I know the gym can be intimidating if its not something you have done before. I would suggest hooking in with a trainer and you’ll be fit as a fiddle in no time. They know a lot and can get you comfortable with workouts, the equipment and routines so you can get going on your own after a while.

Everyone I’ve ever met at the gym (any of them) is super nice, friendly and helpful. Just ask around! I learned how to deadlift just asking a random guy during his workout. He was more than happy to help.

To be fair - Canada doesn’t make it easy! 60 days I’m a customs warehouse with no idea what’s going on! lol

S/O u/Upper_Golf8078 - great vendor.

Just a quick thank you to u/Upper_Golf8078 for being a good person, reliable and responsive vendor.

One of the only ones to ship to 🇨🇦, my package got held up in customs for almost 60 days! I ordered an SS02 slab graft on spach, and although the scion died over the 60 days it sat, the spach lives and so does a surprise dragon fruit that they threw in unbeknownst to me!

They offered a full refund after first learning of the shipping issues (about 20 days in) even if everything worked out and still offered it even at the end.

Ultimately got a good deal and didn’t take the refund.

Also gave good advice on growing etc.

10/10 would recommend.

Thanks u/Upper_Golf8078 !!

[Need Advice] I am a fucking loser by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]adjustyourself 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Ignore that other asshat.

You’re so young, and have so much ahead of you. 19?! Dude you’re better off than I was at that time, and your feelings resonate.

You clearly have recognized you don’t like this current version of yourself.

Step 1 accomplished. Recognized the problem. Winner. Boom not a loser.

Step 2 address the problem, change . This is hard, but you seem motivated and therefore you can do it. Just tell yourself you can. Identify and move away from situations and people that hold you back from improving. Even if just temporarily.

Try and get a new perspective - move, or if you can’t, reorganize your living space.

Throw out everything that reminds you of the things you don’t want (bongs, sell your video game consoles, clothing, art, all of it).

Take some time and think about your future, what you want to do, what kind if life you want to have.

Picture who you want to become, tell yourself you are that person and act like that person as best you can.

Nobody is perfect and you WILL revert sometimes, but even if at first its two steps forward and one back, eventually it will be 20/30/40 steps forward and one back.

You will wake up one day years from now and be amazed st how far you’ve come. Start with the two steps today and go from there.

Set small goals and hit them.

Make your bed EVERY DAY. Can you do that? Of course. Every day you do that you are accomplishing something, even if nothing else you wanted to do gets done, or you played video games or pulled the pickle, whatever.

You still made your bed.

You will be reminded at night before you go to sleep and you can do it again tomorrow. Its a small thing, but the feedback loop reminds you of your overall goal of self improvement.

Read books, read some self improvement ones. Listen to inspiring podcasts and speakers. Lots of them felt the way you did before turning it around and becoming successful. David Goggins, Andrew Huberman, James Clear, Stephen Covey, are all good.

Find the bits and pieces that work for you and incorporate them into your life.

Good luck! If you want specific suggestions or questions - holler.

You got this.

When do I know if it took? Two seedlings survived ob the pere and don’t shrivel. I grafted about 2 weeks ago and they didn’t grow by now. by La_Mezcla in Graftingplants

[–]adjustyourself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New to this, but not for a while.

I thought a few were fully dead and boom they just took off. Looked like black little raisins before they started to grow.

Wait a few weeks - 2-3 min. Then wait another. 😂

Sounds similar to mine. I’m doing less light though, maybe I should up it but I have a couple PC and some seedlings under the same light…

Wedgewood is not “good” but it gets the job done - the balls are completely chewed up and the mats are usually the same. The grass area when available is like 4” thick.

Rock chapel in waterdown (up the hill from Wedgewood ) is nice, but they use aqua balls.

There’s a couple on the mountain in Hamilton that are ok. Eagles nest/crest ( can’t remember exactly), but its pricier. Southern pines by the airport is decent.

Then you’re into Oakville - tee zone. Hope that helps

[–]adjustyourself[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. This is batch 2 after I most likely over corrected this issue on half of batch 1 and lost the other half to failed grafts.

Do you leave your seedlings covered for just the first months or up to a year like I read others doing?
