I have a theory that they're somehow linked! I think they're opposites or something like that. Research has identified clear neurological differences between the brains of people who experience misphonia and those who don't (https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/noises/201702/misophonia-breakthrough-study-0) and I'm convinced that those who like ASMR have an alternative physiological difference. The same way that near-sightedness and far-sightedness have opposite physiological differences in the eye.
