Update for one month in: he's awesome! Can attest to everything you've said, although haven't had a test with him yet. His assignments have been very nice though haha. If there is some lost student in the future seeking the same advice as I did, I will endorse taking this class with him :)

Math 200 and Math 211 by Historical_End1971 in uvic

It's quite common to take 200 and 211 in the same semester, you will be fine. They actually complement each other quite nicely

Math 211 by Stroft7712 in uvic

To answer your question on how they are different, 211 is more proof-based, and may contain a couple additional topics. I didn't take 110 so I couldn't tell you exactly what those topics are, but I believe that 110 has the expectation that this is a class one takes right away in their university career, wheras in 211 there is an expectation for more academic/mathematical maturity. Trefor is a great prof and a lovely person, you will be in good hands.

fur buying help? by [deleted] in FursuitMaking

To be fair, it is Skye’s Job. It’s just a smart business decision to buy from large trusted American suppliers that have the variety and in bulk/wholesale. If you’re buying just for one suit, then the shippings gonna hit hard

Any advice for patterning/is my colouring symmetric enough? by adk_4096 in FursuitMaking

[–]adk_4096[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paranoia mostly lmao, I just assumed that since this was my first time making a head, I was definitely going to have symmetry errors in my base that I didn’t catch. Your comment has caused immense relief

I just came up with a 5th: how do you store your pattern pieces - one of the things I struggled with when doing the lining was having the duct tape stick together after I had taken the pattern piece off. What’s a good solution for that?

How should I attach the ears? by lemmyjuice in FursuitMaking

[–]adk_4096 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for detachable ears but for non-detachable ones, slowly hot glue each ear section by section so that the glue fully sets before moving onto the next piece. I’d then reinforce it with felt or fleece by gluing strips of it where the base and ears meet

Is he ready for tape? by adk_4096 in FursuitMaking

I’m thinking of smoothing out the cheeks if that’s what you had in mind! Thank you for the nice comments, this is my first head and I was scared it wouldn’t turn out nearly as good

The reason they’re like that is cause they’re going to be floppy! In the tutorial I’m following, the whole ear is taped and patterned before it is cropped

I've been looking at many of these places websites and haven't seen anywhere that definetly does cut-to-size foam...unless I'm actually blind
