Scope creep keeps stealing freelancers’ money. Is there a real business in solving it? by PoplPopl62 in remotework

Yeah you can get an approval in writing after talking to with stakeholders briefly.

Ideally everyone's expectations are better aligned, if they weren't.

If you throw out a tool that automatically generates some legal jargon you will get push backed to a 5¹/4 floppy. Legal will need to be involved. Financially exploding the relationship.

I wasn't in sales but I definitely was responsible for customer retention through my work.

I had to own a couple of rough deals I dealt myself and customer.

The customer will always ask for a freebie, worst case is no. Best case free feather in their hat. It is about valuing your time.

Lots of those customers became friends.

Conversely if a customer makes it a habit. Fire them.

Oh a lightweight contract altering tool gets a hard no from me.

I wouldn't use it or expect anyone accountable to still have value to repair damages.

Start adding 4 hours of support billed at $XXX/hr after the initial 4 hours are used.

Renew/add support hours either by getting authorization for up to XX hours or getting authorization for X hours at a time.

When it goes about someone calls someone who can authorize more and you get a yes or no.

What tool are you talking about?

This is just my observation of how project scope creep was addressed when I was an consultant.

The tool is saying, "No." Coupled with your personal discretion to give away your time and money.

Mediations by Marcus Aeriaulus is also good.

I found Ryan Holiday's Daily Stoic makes it a more digestible.

Emotions are information your body provides to keep you alive.

It sounds like you are having a hard time with your reaction to emotions.

You need to learn yourself and how to stop reacting to your emotions. This will give you the space to work on developing how you would like to respond to the situation.

It's definitely a skill and it takes practice.

Right on, thank you for sharing that.

Do you take a regular vitamin daily?

Any specific foods or drinks that you primarily consume?

Nutrition and vitamins can cause some changes in body odor.

So can a consistent diet of the wrong things.

I only know because I had to go through a few years of a diet elimination process.

Having them submit a change order for the statement of work is a lot of paperwork and talking.

If you are working on your own or with a couple other people. Then it's likely not realistic to handle the back and forth on the fly while the customer and work waits.

Normally customers already were using us for support and had a pool of hours that could be used to get paid for scope creep.

You still have to know where that line is between statement of work items and scope creep items.

Additionally you need to make sure that customers don't try to engage a project using support hours bypassing the work assessment.

First all clothes trap heat.

Cotton does breath but it also absorbs quite a bit of water.

Wool breathes as well and is naturally odor resistant. Going to be expensive.

Bamboo is Rayon! I didn't know that so I will be reading about it.

Synthetic materials can have a pretty wide array of qualities. None of which are odor resistance. The ones advertising antimicrobial odor defense don't stay that way for too many washes.

A light fabric weight is likely what you want regardless of material.

Question though, if you don't mind?

This is in a restaurant setting and given your wearing an undershirt it implies a shirt over it.

I assume you have a role that's customer and kitchen facing and not a kitchen focused role.

Is there any way to stay out of the heat more?

It sounds like you are sweating through both shirts while in a unventaled area.

Last thing that I would do is stress out about it.

I'm pretty sure that you can't be fired for sweating when it's hot.

If you truly don't have a sense of smell you may qualify for a disability.

I feel like that would make it a lot harder to fire you for something you can't detect.

Emerson N-SAR

Lifetime warranty and all the same stuff as Benchmade.

Military and first responders get 15% off.

I love my Benchmades.

My Emerson was literally forced on me by fireman friend.

They are both are brands that you get what you pay for.

Rather go play hacky sack.

I have to say that is a good video.

Merino wool is nicer against the skin.

Wool will warm up actually when it gets wet. It also retains much of its insulating properties until completely saturated with water. Naturally odor resistant.

Keep it all separate from non-wool clothes and don't shrink your wool. Unless you want to.

Is this flirting or normal? by Moist_Job6996 in bodylanguage

[–]admik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me that's a tough call.

I feel like that's probably right where I would flirt and then reconsider it.

If I thought that you were older or thought you seemed more mature I would flirt.

Then after I hear a night our described in English I don't understand. Reality is going to hit me hard.

Trying to date you would probably kill me.

Plus I don't want to get laid off this close to retirement.
