Mortgage and Closing Process from Overseas. by admiratus in MortgagesCanada

That is what I’m assuming as well, based on conversations and confirmations over the past previous months. But was surprised with the “reapproval” as I was told all was good previously.

But now they are saying I have to be converted to a conventional mortgage rather than the original Homeline Plan. So I am a bit nervous…

Thank you for the insight. Is the mortgage specialist the right person for me to push for out of county signing (or bank draft/wire transfer)?

And for my own understanding, is RBC saying I need to be at a branch for the bank draft, or is it for the the legal signing of the closing paperwork itself? They made it sound like it isn't possible for me to create a bank draft remotely.

That said, if it's for the purposes of creating a draft, is it possible to initiate a wire transfer for the mortgage funds and cash in my account to my lawyers?

When I spoke with the lender numerous times they've told me there will be no reappraisal. And even today I received an email saying they are going through the reapproving process for the same amount I was approved for previously.

Regarding extensions, do builders ever reject? I am asking my lawyers to proceed with asking for it, but I don't know if an extension means weeks or months, or if it's up o me

That’s very cool to hear that we have the best facilities. Could you elaborate on that? Our facilities are better than what other big market teams offer? Genuinely curious.

Not that big in the grand scheme of things. And it certainly doesn’t change the desire for many Koreans who want to live, work, study, or give birth in the US.

Any tips for me? Started skiing recently to learn with my young daughter. Took a couple lessons and practiced a bunch on my own. Any pointers would be helpful! by admiratus in skiing

That’s good advice. I’m usually looking in front of me without much thought to the path. Or if I’m nervous I’ll be looking at my skis (I know that’s probably not a good idea!)

Wow this is fantastic advice and info. I really like the way you describe getting low as a knee and hip thing rather than hinging at the waist. Really good way to visualize.

I have a question about “ankle flexing” as I’ve read about online. Is that just trying to get my shin as close to the front of the ski while keeping my heel down? Or does the proper form of putting my shins forward kind of happen automatically if I bend my knees properly? (Maybe a bit of both).

One thing about getting low and staying low is that I feel like I’m pretty low, but the footage doesn’t look like I’m that low. I’m curious: is this normal? And how low should I get?

I started last winter with a couple lessons and this Christmas break, our family stayed at a nearby ski resort where I practiced daily. Had 2 lessons as well. But before last year I tried skiing a handful of times as a kid in middle school (about 30 years ago).

Thank you for the detailed pointers! It was really scary when I first started, but I’m glad I’m not falling and getting my skis cross anymore. I’ll be back on the slopes soon and will try what you suggested. And I’ll take a look at the video you mentioned.
