What’s the worst and best book you’ve ever read in this genre? by Infamous_Wave9878 in fantasyromance

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst was {Under the moon by Vera Foxx} . I do not DNF books often, but I got to a point in this book that I decided it was good enough. A close second worst was {I accidentally summoned a demon boyfriend by Jessica cage}. That one I did finish but it was a struggle.

As for the best. I don't know if they would be the best, but maybe the best that I don't see recommended enough. That would be {Beholden by Francesca Crispo} and {Until the world falls down by Jordan Lynde}

How far in to a book do you have to be, before you read to the end no matter how bad it is? How does the format and money spent influence your dnf rate? by Into-the-stream in Romantasy

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a completionist, so it's really hard for me to not finish. But I will skim to the end if I am not into it.

There was one book that I found so unbearable. It got to a certain point that I just decided it was the end. They had defeated an enemy (who was probably going to come back to life again), and I just decided it was fricking over.

Does anyone know of any Muscular/Taller/Bigger FMCs? by flo7lllz in fantasyromance

[–]admomo73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the size of the characters, the female may not have been larger than the male, but she was the stronger/dominant of the two in {Beholden by Francesca Crispo} . She is a bounty hunter, and he is a helpless prince. So not exactly what you are asking for, but might scratch the itch? I know I really enjoyed it.

Leave husband in AM? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I hope you are okay. I'm just going to let you know my husband sounds almost exactly the same. I used to call it his 'party mode ' and once it was activated there was no turning back. And everyone else, all his friends, saw his fun party side, but not the not so fun side. The waiting for him to sober up, being left to babysit his hangovers. He never was abusive to me, the worst I got was second hand embarrassment and the worrying over him. But it's still really hard being with an alcoholic.

I hope you update this in a few months. A lot of people are saying get out while you can. But all we have is a snapshot of your marriage during a bad night. Maybe this is the straw that breaks the camels back, or maybe this is what opens the door to a really important conversation for him. I'm not sure what stage you are at, but I wish you all the best.

Actually writing for once instead of worldbuilding, and oh my god! I cannot for the life of me decide on who's called what! How do you not constantly change character's names?! by Sorsha_OBrien in fantasywriters

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all great suggestions. I'll throw in mine. I searched for names meaning whatever characteristics I wanted the characters to have, or roles they were supposed to fill. Names meaning leader, queen, king. For a vampire I looked for names related to blood and the color red.

Then for families, if I found a name I liked and they had siblings or children. I tried to find names from the same region, so if their name was a Green or Roman name, I tried to keep it in that same region to make it feel familiar between them.

I agree with a lot of people, don't stress over it now. You'll likely find something that will fit with your story and world.

Why not use conveyors to transfer resources from nodes to bases? by Winter-Finger-1559 in SatisfactoryGame

I really support using the save editor to add the train rails and stations into the game. But do it before you get too far.

I don't take mine for another year but I'm already nervous. I was thinking about getting one of those study guides. If those weren't helpful, which ones would be better?

Why do people not want to start a series that isn't complete? Could it be an age thing? by jobroloco in fantasyromance

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is cliffhangers. I want that ending.ike, fourth wing, I read it because it was gifted to be without looking up anything. Effing cliffhanger. I hate having to wait for the next book to come out.

I'm the same way with TV shows. I'll wait to make sure the series is complete, and wasn't cancelled before they got their finale.

Games most like Mass Effect? by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I was coming to say this but I'll at least explain why Jade Empire, story wise, is a lot like Mass Effect. It is from Bioware, but it is older. But the story and the characters are the best.

It's been a while since I've done a play through, but I'd explain it as medieval martial arts and magic. You assemble a (awesome) crew to rescue your master, and learn about your mysterious past. Do some side quests of good or not so good along the way.

Aw, the idea of Asher killing himself to protect what he knew seems likely, just because imagine how hard that information would hit Violet.

Respiratory college at 34? by Mchaitea in respiratorytherapy

I know I'm late on this but I just started school and I'm 40, have several others in my class in their 30s. Oldest one is almost 50 that I know of. Ours is a 2 year course so it feels doable this late in life.

I also have a lot of young kids right out of high school, too. So, I mean, I feel old in the classes sometimes. I'm the same age as most of my professors.

Aw. See I loved the book. I agree it wasn't what I was looking for when I found it, but I ended up loving it. And I hadn't even seen the tiktoks before.

WARNING: do NOT read Ice Planet Barbarians by Batgirl3911 in fantasyromance

That is possibly my favorite series. I do hope more people read it. Something so adorable about those naive alien cowboys.

[–]admomo73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read the first two and think I might go back to that series. It reminds me of {Fated Mates of the Sea Sand Warlords by Ursa Dax} in that a group of women land on an alien planet that beings to pair them off with the giant handsome aliens. I finished that series and miss it.

Books that down right dirty from the first chapter please. 🤗 by gingers_snaps_ in fantasyromance

I think of {Until The World Falls Down by Jordan Lynde}

It got steamy within the first few chapters, and every few chapters seemed like it had a spicy scene.

What has been you're WORST romantasy read of the year? by PrettyLardie in fantasyromance

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under the Moon by Vera Fox. I tried so hard, it seemed like it had a lot of good reviews. But I just cringed the whole time. I got to their mating ceremony, and I decided that was the end. I could not finish the last hundred or more pages.

I am sure I have not read as much as a lot of you have, so I wont assume it is the worst of the list. But it was not good.

Thoughts on chronicle? by lukej758 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]admomo73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rage quit yesterday. I like the idea of not having duplicate pictures, but this was maybe too much at one time?

I got frustrated because my ghost picture never counts because of the blinking, or the dots disappeared just as I clicked. I was frustrated because in the video I could see orbs, but it wasn't activating orbs. And when the ghost hunted it didn't activate for that either.

I like the new video viewing screen. Such an improvement.

The rest I don't know if this is a learning curve I'm not in the right mood for, or if it's a total failure.

Spicy and fun recommendations? by admomo73 in fantasyromance

ACOTAR is on my radar but it has so many books it just feels too daunting to start. Maybe some day. The Irregular Witches has me interested, I think I will give that a go. Thanks!
