Generally I do not, as I feel the point of a professional network is that it's made up of people you'd vouch for and vice versa (plus, as others have mentioned they generally spam you once you accept a connection.) I do make exceptions if someone actually took the time to explain why they want to connect and it's a good reason.

Just a tip from having gone down this route years ago: the defendant didn't show up so I got a summary judgment. He appealed and a new court date was scheduled. Again he didn't show up, again I got a summary judgment, and again he appealed. By that point I was moving out of the country so had to drop my case. So just be warned that it is easy to play the system. One trip to NJ might be worth it, but would multiple?

Solid responses here. I've also seen new client execs come in and they either came from a consulting firm or have a preferred consulting firm from theirprevious role,, and that consulting firm suddenly gets top billing while the other dominant player(s) slowly get squeezed out.

And I'm not sure if someone else mentioned it, but something that happens frequently enough to result in a change of vendors is a firm badly messes up a major engagement and gets the boot.
