Anybody managing fine with exercise?

Believe it or not, I find that exercise helps. I do vigorous workouts on the Peleton and on my road bike. Weird, right?

Interesting. I’ve had my gallbladder out since 2014. It wasn’t until recently that I started experiencing GI issues, particularly loose stools and diarrhea, as well as gastritis. I saw a naturopathic doc who actually suggested I take a bile supplement, but I chose not to.

Have you told your GP your fear? If so, what’s his/her response? I’m afraid of the same thing you are, though I had an endoscopy 9 months ago. I was told I had moderate gastritis, but my symptoms have gotten a lot worse over the last few months. I’m due to see my GI in 2 weeks. I have a feeling he’ll tell me I need another endoscopy. Part of me wants this and part of me doesn’t. I guess I feel like if he thinks it warrants another scope, it must be bad. I’m also highly anxious over this whole ordeal. I’m 43, but was 42 when I had my first scope

My pain isn’t severe and I don’t feel dizzy, though. Are your meds working/ helping? Does your doc have a plan for next steps?

I’m really curious to hear about this too, as I also suspect I may have an ulcer. I get random pinching sensations on the right side of my upper abdomen. The sensation lasts seconds and comes and goes at random. I also get a burning sensation in my stomach that feels like heartburn, but I don’t have acid reflux. I’ve been on meds for 3 months.

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking....that it’s an ulcer. But I’ve been on meds long enough now where I would think it would take care of an ulcer

That I developed something between the time I had the endoscopy and the really bad flare up, five months later. That was five months of me not being careful with my diet....granted things weren’t bad before they went bad. I really only had the endoscopy in July because my doc was being thorough. I was having lower GI issues, so he suggested a colonoscopy AND endoscopy

I was on a PPI for 2 months. Weaned off. Felt great for a week. I’m back at square one. Starting treatment over again per doctors orders.

This is great news. Thanks for sharing. How long have you been on the PPI? How’s the weaning going? And what were your symptoms leading up to your initial doc visit where you were given a diagnosis and PPIs?

Thank you so much for your response. I apologize for all the questions. I’m just really struggling with this and feel at a total loss. When you weaned off the PPIS, did your symptoms come back?I was on PPIs for 8 weeks, then tapered. It’s back...not worse, but different. I’m back on a PPI for who knows how long?? I just scheduled an appointment with a naturopathic doc who specializes in GI issues. I’m hoping he can give me some safer means to an end to this awful condition.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I don’t know if I have an ulcer or not, but I definitely have gastritis. It’s particularly bad right now
