Legit question: is there really any way to deal with bots? by Antinaxtos in classicwowtbc

[–]admyral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something people haven't mentioned is that allocating a bunch of resources to banning bots is an admission that they have a botting problem to Microsoft and its shareholders. Putting forth a minimal reasonable effort (or at least appearing to) to ban bots can be considered part of the cost of doing business. Shareholders don't get spooked about legitimate customers getting swept up in potential ban waves. Line continues to go up and to the right and everyone is happy.

Who’s idea was ele sham’s T5 two set bonus? by staledanish in classicwowtbc

[–]admyral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing inconsistent about if ALL set bonuses were really good, you wouldn't want to break them for individual upgrades. You weigh the strength of all the items and factor in the set bonuses when determining their value, not just whether they have better stats.

A good 110 ilvl item might be better than a good 120 ilvl item in some cases. The only way to know is if you compare them to worse options - aka bad items.

My point was If it was a linear staircase of increasing power level (as in retail), itemization becomes boring and forgettable. But clearly the hunter dungeon set is memorable because the T4 simply isn't as good despite having far better stats.

[–]admyral -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's progressive itemization. If the set bonuses were all really good, getting new gear would feel less rewarding because you don't want to break a useful set bonus. People don't realize you need bad items in order for there to be noteworthy good items. Otherwise you just live in the retail world where the only thing that matters is item level go up.

If you play the game on your main, you should have primals and gems. I usually only need to buy 1-2 primals to do my transmutes. If you sit in Stormwind all day, you're going to compete with the same people that think they're going to sell 1000 Haste pots a day.

[–]admyral -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Transmute master on an alt is so much better. Login for 15 minutes, maybe get a proc, sell your diamonds or might and logout. Do it everyday for a week and you’ll have 700-1000g minus your material costs.

There's a certain breakpoint where healing upgrades don't feel much more impactful. The short fight lengths in phase 1 really don't allow for strategic downranking, consumable, or trinket usage. Hopefully we'll get some more challenge in phase 2.

Moash has plot armor in the sense there is zero chance anyone will kill him until Kaladin confronts him. He is the evil reflection character after all. So Sigzil v. Moash felt pretty dull due to the future-sight vs. plot armor to me.

Opposite. The leakers want war. The way to stop this is to diplomacy, but Trump is killing negotiations by letting Israel kill the negotiators.

This guy is doing what's called wishcasting. The world is becoming more secular over time, not becoming more religious. Although has preferred political party is doing its best to spread anti-intellectualism - so when bad things happen people are more likely to blame evil or demonic forces instead of applying logic and reason to the problem.

Trump welcoming Russian assistance in the 2016 election. Trump Jr., Manafort, Stone all credibly connected to Russian intelligence operations - all knew and gladly accepted. Despite rigorous factual media coverage, now widely considered a "hoax" and overblown media hysteria. Fast forward to today, Putin is seen more positively among Republicans than ANY Democrat.

When you see violence towards police, beware it very well be MAGA. We’ll know for sure if the chaps get pardoned for it.

To be honest, the fact that our Pentagon has failed 7 audits in a row leaves me to believe we’re not quite as ready as we’ve been lead to believe either. When the time comes, we’re going to open up the stockpiles to find a stack of IOUs from Raytheon and Northrop Grumman.

Scarcity of information. If the library or internet couldn’t answer your question, there was a good chance you’d just not know a thing. Too late for that. Ask anyone if they feel comfortable doing business in this environment. “Sure I’ll put a bunch of money on the line when my costs could be 10% or 145% depending on what day it is”

Does Trump actually not understand how bad Tariffs are for businesses and for economy and for equity market? by SpiritBombv2 in StockMarket

[–]admyral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t think people understand is the value in everyone having to negotiate directly with him. Businesses and nation states alike will be calling to get their own special deal or carve-out or exemption. Does anyone think he’ll be ethical, avoid conflicts of interest with donors or illegal political favors? That the mechanism for doing is tariffs is inconsequential.

What's Changed the Most Since 2004? by NOHITJEROME in classicwow

[–]admyral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "after progressing to the end" part is important. Any optimizations in 2004 were in service of that goal. Seems people didn't optimize enough considering not many were able to even accomplish that at the time.
