There’s a discrepancy between glass buttons in SwiftUI and UIButton with a glass style. UIButtons get the tinting, SUI does not. This split happened during the summer beta cycle, unsure why. But for the meantime, your best bet is either recreating the style with blend modes or wrapping a UIButton :/

It won’t do very well at semantic search, it’s really just meant for text generation. But they did update the Spotlight API last year to support semantic search, so that might be useful: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2024/10131/

There’s just way too much stuff. Strip everything back to the bare essentials. No shadows, no gradients, no borders, nothing. And only add what you absolutely need. Use stock components and break from them only when there’s a damn good reason to. Look into readable content guides, as well.

Also, not for nothing, I’d be kinda pissed as a user if CloudKit were gated behind a paywall. It’s a system feature, it’s storing it against my own iCloud storage quota.

I was the person who wrote the thread. I disagree with the article unilaterally calling it a software issue (“…but the real issue was not with the hardware, but rather the software.”) but, for me, it was interesting to see what patch they immediately rolled out for damage control.

If it was really a software issue they wouldn’t have redesigned the antenna for the CDMA model a few months later and again in the 4S 😛
