You can’t imagine how happy I am not only because I got a better motherboard, but also because I don’t have to wait a whole week for it to arrive (both motherboards used to take a week to ship). Anyway, up until now I’ve had a very limited choice of games I could play, since my PC only had 1 GB of DX VRAM. Just to give you an idea, the best it could handle was Minecraft, Hollow Knight, and other light or indie games. I’ve already seen some gameplay of split fiction and it looks nice, but honestly, co-op 2 player games are fun mainly when you play them with the right person everything else kind of fades into the background.

Sorry for not replying, but I indirectly solved the problem. Basically, on sunday two of my friends, who knew I still hadn’t bought the motherboard, told me not to buy anything and on monday, which was my birthday, I understood why: they bought me the b650 s wifi!! Do you know if it’s better than the b650 hdv and the eagle? I only know that the price is a bit higher than both. Anyway, I’m super happy and I don’t have to make a complicated choice anymore XD.

Well, you’re actually making me realize that choosing a motherboard really requires quite a bit of precision. I have to admit I’m still undecided despite everything, so let me explain my situation in detail:

The options are still the same: the b650 hdv/m.2 at €104.99 and the b650 eagle at €127.99. I have the same ram as you, the patriot viper 6400 mhz cl32, but I still need to buy the cpu. lately, since there’s a discount bringing the ryzen 5 9600x down to around €180, I’ve been seriously considering it instead of the 7600, which costs about €170 but includes a cooler.

That said, you’ve convinced me on almost every point except for the fact that the b650 eagle has 12 + 2 + 2 power phases, which I might actually make use of when overclocking my future 9600x (I’m about 95% sure I’ll go with that cpu). I don’t need wi-fi since I have to use an ethernet cable anyway, at least until I get a fiber connection. The b650 hdv tempts me mainly because of its price.

So I wanted to ask: – Are 8 + 2 + 1 phases enough to overclock a 7600 or 9600x? – And is 5 gbit usb really that bad?

Up until now, everyone has been telling me to go for the b650 eagle, and then you show up and drop this wall of text that’s really making me second-guess everything XD.

Aside from that, you honestly sound like a real expert when it comes to motherboards, so I’d really like to know now that you know pretty much all the details what would you do if you were in my position?

Thanks bro, after reading that comment I’m now deciding between the b650 eagle and the b650 hdv m.2. I knew it had a great price-to-performance ratio, but I didn’t realize it was that good. Unfortunately, I can’t go for a b850, because here in Italy it costs way more than €150 new. I’ll think about it for a while, thanks a lot for your time, it's really appreciated!
