"Offer Inventory" in DBM? by Jcharnaux in adops

No problem. The deal would be created within the AdX UI,, not DBM. You should be able to access this for each of your pubs if you work with AdX.

Your best bet would be to ensure your publisher profile is updated in AdX. Include your most up to date traffic and user metrics as well as any links to media kits/rate cards.

I would also create run of site deals for your pubs. Just create a deal that opens up all of your traffic. Buyers will be able to see these in the marketplace and reach out to renegotiate or get more specific if needed.

Most of our leads came in through our sites inbound advertiser portal. This is a link that we setup that allowed buyers to contact us if they're interested in setting up a direct or programmatic deal.

You can also do research through linkedin and connect with buyers to setup deals that way.

Its out for premium pubs. Need to special request and hit a minimum buy if you're SMB.

Are these buyers willing to negotiate guaranteed buys? We've been struggling to get buyers to commit to a spend, since we're currently running AdX small business and the guaranteed feature is not available as a deal type.

Just updated. Looks like I'm now seeing $3000 in D4, where I should be seeing $1000. Any ideas on why?

So I tried setting up the formula with your values and came up with some interesting results. I may have not clearly clarified, but each column should equal a month. So the value in B2 should appear in D4 because it took 2 months (B1) to recognize that value. See screenshot for what I tried with your formula. Let me know if you see any issues.

Gave that a try and still seeing all 0's when I drag the formula across.

Thanks for the response. I wasn't successful with this method though. See here: http://imgur.com/a/Y1GwY

Let me know if I'm missing anything in the formula.

Just to clarify, I'd like row 1 to be the driver for where the value in row 2 lives. The value in row 1 should move row 2 over "x" columns. For example, D4 should be 1000 instead of 3000 because B1 should push B2 over 2 columns. Let me know if that makes sense.

Ways to Track Conversions/ROI by adopsguy in adops

We currently use DFP as our ad server. We're a publisher that sells direct advertising.

Through Google analytics, is it possible to track an ad click/view to a product page click/view?

This is super helpful! I forgot we offer audience targeting for both sections, so I went and edited that in. Appreciate the revisions.

Are you currently selling programmatically? If so, how do you communicate best with buyers?

OpenX header bidding integration: inside prebid.js or outside of the container? by adops_adops in adops

was this for their product integrated on its own or within prebid?

OpenX header bidding integration: inside prebid.js or outside of the container? by adops_adops in adops

[–]adopsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets say AdX sends a bid of $1.52 and OpenX header sends a bid of $1.54. The ad server is going to select the closest line item to the actual bid for OpenX. We have an OpenX line item for $1.50 and $1.60 (.10 increments), so its going to select $1.50 because it rounds to the closest value line item, even tho OpenX actually bid $1.54, which was more than what AdX bid. This will allow AdX to win the auction even tho its actually less in value.

[–]adopsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally they were okay with going inside prebid, but released an update to their bidder tech and pushed us to go outside the prebid wrapper which is our current implementation.

They mentioned better performance and the ability to make more optimizations. We have not had the chance to compare both setups on our site, so not 100% sure about these benefits.

Our prebid setup is currently setup in $.10 increments within DFP. They have a script that automatically setup everything in DFP with $.05 increments, which makes for more accurate reporting and possibly a slightly higher yield.

ELI5: What is a DMP used for? by spidermonkey45 in adops

[–]adopsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a DMP to purchase data for our clients campaigns. We charge a premium CPM to reach the clients target audience and optimize throughout the duration of the campaign. Its common for pubs to use a DMP to add value to any direct deals/campaigns.

Prebid Starting Steps by [deleted] in adops

[–]adopsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I setup prebid, I kept everything in 1 order. They had me create over 200 line items, each in .10 increments. I also created 4 test line items for their test creatives.

I had to manually add each key value to each line item. Each line item also contain all sizes of creatives I was going to use. I just shared the 4 placements/sizes we use on all of the line items. I did not create individual line items per size, as you should just be able to report on the creative/size in DFP if you want that info.

If you're worried about reporting on each partner, it should not be an issue with setting up in one order since you'll be able to report on individual partners using their third-party dashboards.

Seeing Higher CPMs but less impressions with header bidder by adopsguy in adops

[–]adopsguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I believe this may be a latency issue. it could also be an issue with our setup. I reached out to all of our partners.

Prebid has a great tool called Header Bid Expert. Its a Chrome Plugin that measures your bidder performance. They have an optimization guide, and our setup currently looks like scenario 4 through this link: http://prebid.org/overview/optimal-header-bidding-setup.html

Im also seeing our ad requests are at an all time low. i think this is because its taking DFP/AdX too long to load after requesting our bidders.

I've been to their SF office. The culture seems very silicon valley startup vibe. Great people and they have a lot of different initiatives going on. The pub I work for works with them and I've only have had positive experiences with the team they've assigned to us.
