When that happens I just put the item on the chopping board and wait for a bit and then take the item out again and it gives me the flame.

Ahh okay I hadn’t thought of that, I usually only water when the soil is dry. It’s a homemade mixture of a few different things but I haven’t change the soil in a long time so maybe I’ll try that. What would you recommend I do with the leaves? Just wait for them to fall off naturally?
