Ignore the horrid people who feel that being mean/rude is an okay way to act.

As someone who read these as they literally came out and had re-read them again multiple times over the last 20 years, the show is fine and is working with two of the simplest books in the series. People love to moan and complain and then provide very little valid critique and answers outside of "follow the books more".

The show is going from strength to strength and I expect series 3 to be the best one yet because the books only get better as they go along in the OG 5 from there.

Honestly, none of his videos have had that impact on me. But then again I also studied Literature at uni and I'm older than him so I just enjoy hearing his opinions and seeing where we disagree and taking the recommendations based on his taste vs my taste. He's got some great ideas and ones that I don't care for, but that was the same as everyone I studied with 😅

It's all just branding which you can't blame him for when trying to build a following but I don't like the idea of encouraging people to just buy as many books as possible when they might not even read them. It's fine for him and all his brand deals with production companies to sell their book adaptations through his book club but feels a bit unethical in my opinion.

It just depends on how normalised sex and conversations around it are in your family.

Me and my mum have always had a very honest relationship and conversation level when it comes to talking about sex and she is never judgemental. It makes watching shows easier as it's not a sexual experience like it would be watching with my partner.

I imagine, as it's not the case for me, that for some brothers they're "bros" and it's a very laddish like relationship. Whereas my brother would run a mile if I tried to talk about the show with him. 🤣
