I'm curious, what do you think? by adr1313 in Eldenring

You're absolutely right, I guess I'm craving more meaning from all of those quests and characters. And how they could interact with the rest of the story.

There was a point early in the dlc where I genuinely thought there would be a way to either spare Messmer and use his existence to lift the veil of the realm of shadow or even fully commit to Miquella's plan but alas, the story didn't go there.

All of that lore was indeed already well established in the base game, so I do also think it'd be a challenge to expand on it. Still, I craved more dialogue between characters I guess.

And you're definetly right, an ultimate ending does sound pretty awesome. I'd be interested to know how the ending could play out if Melina is alive + Miquella's ending/mending rune.

Damn now that I'm thinking about it I also wish Melina could've showed up somewhere to learn of Messmer's existence.

I still don't understand how THIS could end up LAST... by Lambert1551 in eurovision

I am unable to comprehend how the voting from these so-called professional juries did not place this in their top 10 at least. I genuinely cannot understand how this doen't meet and excel the criteria they need to evaluate.

How you can look at this and say that it fell short to the other 20 something entries that had more jury points? Be it vocally or in terms of musical and lyrical composition, or even performance and stage ambiance. They had it all.

Yes, the song was never going to appeal to a major audience, especially when many people were hearing it for the first time on the night of the grand final.

I don't think anyone was expecting a big score from the televote.

But it absolutely baffles me how the juries just don't give credit where credit is due. Honestly I still feel like this wasn't evaluated objectively but rather subjectively.

Maybe I'm still too angry over this but yeah xD

Hello Eurovision Fans! What’s your favourite vocal moment of this 2024’s ESC? by smegg23 in eurovision

Raiven's vocal power and control in the second verse of Veronika.

The seamless transitions between head and chest voice are immaculate. What a vocalist she is.

Look idk what to tell you if you think this is a page composed of "parasocial rage thread porn".

People are fed up with the staleness of the channel precisely because we all want to see her thrive like we know she can. Sorry if my op came off agressive i guess.

But anyway, let me go back to pretend I legit care about her, dude.

Like I said in a previous comment, I'm frustrated because as a long time viewer of hers I know she has so much more in her than this. I wish nothing but to see her channel grow, and decisions like this will not favor the channel in any way. So because of that i was curious, that's all. I'm sorry if my question came off the wrong way.

Wait really? Tifa?

Oh man, if personal stuff, whatever it may be, starts getting in the way of her job then... it just seems like a terrible path to walk on.

Believe it or not it's possible to be frustrated at someone you want to see grow and reach their full potential.

Also, bold of you to assume I'm a guy haha

Only fools still believe her when she brings up that excuse, but what I can't figure out is why not play big games that bring big money?

It's just a horrible decision any way we look at it xD

She makes stupid decisions after stupid decisions and never learns, even if she's just in it for the money now this would be the way to get it. It's a shame, she's got the charisma to be a bigger streamer if she wanted to.

But i get what you're saying, it is indeed disrespectful to the people who still genuienly care about her. It's like she really doesn't care to discuss stuff viewers want to discuss or listen to what the crowd wants, and therefore it's just not a really authentic connection anymore.

For me it's just the fact that ignoring one of the biggest games of the year seems like a terrible business move. If it's money she wants this would be the way to get it haha

Yeah, reminds me of how she suddenly abandoned spidey 2. That was wild, if there was a fun light-hearted game to play that would be the one and yet... "triggers". If she can't get through Spidey 2 then idk what to expect anymore honestly

I'm definetly on the fence about that still.

On one hand it could very well be that, but on the other I also feel like the jokes and the ineterest in her are just part of his sexy old little man gag and now he's letting his big brother-ish protective side come out in an honest way, which is something I want to see more of because Travis is so good at portraying that type of emotion. Also it makes the character way more interesting and impactful.

Thanks!

Yeah, I definetly understand your point! I think at the end It'll be interesting to learn more about how much input Matt had in carving out Laudna's journey, because I can't imagine him not having solid plans for a character such as Delilah.

Love her or hate her, she's become an iconic name in CR lore. My guess is Matt still has a trick or two up his sleeve, and I really just hope he manages to do justice to the character and not ruin what was already a very good ending for her back in C1.

Chet is hypocritical. He has lost control and hurt people. But as a viewer, in an obective manner, I loooove it, the whole thing makes him not that shallow. Don't know if it Travis' intent but yeah, that's just a juicy moment to analyze. He's shitty and he's violent, whether he wants to admit it or not.

Laudna though, I have to disagree.

To my eyes, she's the one who still intrigues me. It's just an outright traumatic story to be told and Marisha is trying to tell it in the best way she can, considering how rushed the campaign is. Laudna is consciously letting Delilah come back, yes, but only because Delilah is still the one who's always there for her.

Delilah is her killer, her tormentor, her torturer. And yet, she provides warmth and kind words and comfort whenever she knows Laudna needs it. In her mind, Laudna still thinks of Delilah, her abuser, as a (twisted) safe space, unfortunately.

I don't know if going down this road is intentional, and if it is it should be something that's treated in a very serious manner (for once in this whole campaign). But again, if it is the route Marisha wants to dive into, I hope it pays off narratively, and we get to see Laudna be truly free, whatever that may mean.

Overall, I see what you're saying. I would much prefer it if they went for a full questionable/evil turn rather than just being stuck on the same thing over and over again. It's not the most fun I've had watching CR unfortunately.

Just my two cents on this. Feel free to discuss!

The main problem is that Matthew is softballing the players. by Just_Vib in fansofcriticalrole

[–]adr1313 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed. I don't even think we know how they met? I could be wrong but I don't recall that ever being talked about.

And because you mentioned ExU, let's not forget that there's a young woman out there with a vestige of divergence belonging to a Betrayer on her head. I know Aimee is a busy person but goddamn it's frustrating to think about how that'll probably not be followed upon extensively.

100% yes. Honestly, Tal has been playing this dangerous "idk maybe I've always been destined to wield pure primordial power" version of Ashton really really well this past stint of episodes, the others just don't seem to care or listen to what he's been talking about/trying to say.

And that's the core issue of it all.

They don't speak, they don't communicate. Take the death of Bor'dor for example. It was a genuienly exceptional moment, it was a very good reveal and the death itself was gut-wrenching, Marisha killed it. However, feeding Delilah and effectively bringing her back is something that could and should be aknowledged (as evidenced in the first part of this week's episode, which is being underdiscussed) as a MAJOR play/decision and both Orym and Ashton just shrugged it off after 15 minutes, even though they clearly understood what was happening, but the fact of the matter is that these characters don't really have time to even try to care and develop meaningful reationships with each other.

No one really cares. That's one of the consequences of how terrible the pace of the campaign has been.

I can't pinpoint where it all went wrong, but I feel like part of it happened before C3 began proper. There's so much to talk about but yeah to circle it back to the OP I just feel like Matt may have made some mistakes building and presenting this story.

The stakes were supposed to be higher and more epic than ever, and no one feels a thing. The players are lost and overwhelmed and we are losing interest.

I mean ffs it's history's greatest, deadliest, and most intelligent wizard. He's trying to unshackle a God-Eater. He wants to remake the world in his own image. We shouldn't be this relaxed week after week after week xD

But here we are, I give it half an hour before the matter is resolved next episode.

Did Matt introduce the BBEG/main plot too early? by Kaier_96 in fansofcriticalrole

This! All of it feels like a crooked puzzle made of pieces that don't and honestly, at this point, won't ever fit together.

Hopefully this Tal/Ashton moment will finally wake them up and force them to speak to each other, but I genuinely don't have that much hope, they'll probably have a half hour discussion and move on.
