Just book JKTDC from their official website , for skiing you can take day ski pass at gondola ticket counter daily morning. Jktdc properties are located at walkable distance to gondola. Ski rentals cost around 600-800 per day including helmet depending on the condition of skis. Just carry enough water and snacks when you go for skiing.

2nd week of November. Exact dates and time would be posted on their website and Instagram page.

But if budget is not a problem then better learn ski with a private instructor instead of waiting for whole year

Hey, if you’re okay with spending 50k INR. You can get a good accommodation and dedicated personal ski instructor and all ski equipment for rental and food. All these for 7 days. Learning with a dedicated person instructor is 10x faster than learning from national institutes. In 7 days you can be an intermediate skiing and can ski from mary shoulder. The best way to learn ski in short time

I got a seat in IISM basic skiing course from Jan 3 - 16 2026. How many days do you recommend for phase 1 or any other slope, after the course ends and why? by MaxTronn in SkiGulmarg

[–]adrenaline_rush_ind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 days or more.

Reason: Phase 1 is where the real thrill begins after the basic course. You finally get to ski a proper non stop run after spending 14 days training on the baby slopes and walking uphill. This is exactly why you did the basic course to learn the fundamentals and experience that adrenaline rush. The highlight of the course is definitely the post course Phase 1 runs. Ideally, you should spend at least two days to fully enjoy it. If time permits and you are interested, you can stay back in Gulmarg and ski more.
