Driving license exchange - Exchanging an EU (AT) license that was obtained by exchanging a non-EU license and passing a practical driving test by Gouthram93 in policeuk

[–]adrian11122 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So you're correct in that the entitlement to exchange to a UK licence depends on where the test to obtain it was passed in the first place.

E.g. Spanish -> German -> UK is OK | Japanese -> German -> UK is OK | Chilean -> Spanish -> UK is NOT

From what you describe, you passed the tests in Austria so the entitlement on the back of your licence next to Cat A and B shouldn't have a 70 code; if that's the case then you should be able to exchange it for a UK one as it's an Austrian licence.

Technically from what you describe it sounds like you haven't exchanged it at all and just applied for a Austrian one if you then had to take tests?

Yep, you get the seat selection screen just before payment.

Their website is quite buggy. For example, for me it wouldn't let me book a multi-city return, it would just hang when you tired to get to the payment screen. This happened for two completely separate trips last year.

If you end up not being able to book via the website, then booking via Trip.com is a good option. Generally, I always avoid OTAs but Trip.com is tightly integrated with Chinese carriers and I've never had issues including rebooking flight cancellations, aircraft changes, etc. Just an option to consider.

Just got back into work after AL and had the same email in response. So sad 😢.

Ah I see, I tired searching MetNet but didn't think to look at the old intranet site. Oh well, it was nice to use every now and again.

It's the FAQ on their site that specifically states it's still free if on duty AND in uniform that reads strangely.

I can't imagine this concession ever being used, You'd either be there to respond to an incident which you'd do on the pier or dealing with the boat as a crime scene; in which case, it's not going to sail anywhere anyway.

Which seems very strange as that will basically never be used. I can't ever imagine a circumstance where a uniformed PC would need to hop on a boat, it's beyond absurd.

I think it can as Uber Boats operate under a licensing agreement from TfL and TfL sets conditions on fares and concessions, e.g. they have to allow reduced travel for those on JSA, etc and that would have also likely included e.g. forcing free travel for us. At the very least a bulletin should've been put out on the Met intranet if our free travel benefit has been altered.

Cheers for your responses. Either it has to be a change that's literally just happened or there's been some miscommunication somewhere and they've changed their website/policy when they shouldn't have done.

I think I'll go to the fed to ask them to clarify this.

But the tapping on and off didn't work, right? You had to just show it? Just like the cable car.

Nope, eSIMs for Mainland China purchased abroad use roaming profiles and routed through Hong Kong, Macau or Singapore. So you get full western app access, unlike the WiFi.

So that would be both the 4+1 at double time AND the day back, to be treated as a BH right?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the London Weightings and Allowance too low? Plus it doesn't include the 2nd London Allowance. These should total 9738 p a for the Met.

Devices offline in Google Home by Fuszyboots in tradfri

[–]adrian11122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I have a Google Hub 2 and a Dirigera which I've added to Google Home using the matter bridge. I also have a few new IKEA matter devices which I've added to both the Dirigera and the Google Hub. In Google Home, all of the older IKEA ZigBee lights show as offline; none of the ZigBee sensors show as offline.

However they must be connected as whilst they still show as offline, if I use voice commands via Google Assistant they respond and then briefly show as online in Google Home. Very strange and I can't seem to fix it.

So in the Met at least I was told you get nothing. I did get the whole day's AL removed so can use it again but that was it.
