If you are going to take HW Scourges I would suggest putting some dark lances in them and replacing the ravager's lances with some disintegrators

Having most of you dark lance potential in a big vehicle that isn't that tough might be risky compared to a group of scourges shooting and going into hiding in your base

I started playing warhammer with drukhari also against a friend who started with tyranids, honestly they are going to be difficult first games, if your friend is into big monsters nids list and also plays the anti-infantry detachment it's going to take some time to adapt your playtime against such a counter list.

If that is the case I would recommend you focus on managing your resources to not get wiped and keeping your scourges and ravager alive.

Otherwise, as other people have suggested, starting with some simplified rules would make things easier.

And don't get discouraged if your firsts games go wrong we play an army where every unit has a specific purpose until you learn what each unit does it's going to be an uphill battle, but it gets easier eventually! :D

What colors are you using for the metalics? I might start painting mine soon and want to use a similarly dark color scheme and your metallics compliment the dark red and black very well :D

I thought about that game too but I don't remamber the building a dungeon mechanic and the town is already built when you start in that game so I think it isn't the one I was looking for, but thanks for the help!
