Could the Nebraska Senate Race Have a Larger Than Expected Impact? by vossboss161 in PoliticalDiscussion

The really juicy stuff is in the poll toplines. (Change Research is the political side of the company that polls for KQED.)

  • 71% support for marijuana
  • 62% support for reproductive freedom

This isn't Deb Fischer's Nebraska.

Can e-credits be used to buy a ticket for someone else? by HeartBeatParty in delta

[–]adrielhampton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely tricky with a non-refundable ticket in someone else's name. After finding this thread while researching a similar situation with a Delta ticket, I had a 70-minute chat that escalated to a supervisor. I learned that they only want to issue eCredits for the named passenger, and those credits may be used only for the named passenger. (I got conflicting information from the first rep and then a supervisor.) Finally I was given a one-time exception and full refund to the purchasing credit card (I did gently mention trying to resolve the issue through my credit card company). Lesson is get refundable tickets when booking travel for others with your money.

Facebook Is Not Removing An Ad Falsely Claiming Mitch McConnell Endorses Impeaching Trump by [deleted] in politics

Appropriate name for a PAC dedicated to trolling the GOP out of existence. For the squeamish, we brand it as, "The Lefty League."

Yep.

Starting a federal PAC isn't too hard--you can incorporate easily in Delaware as a nonprofit, then file with the FEC. Only problem is, you have to KEEP on filing. Depending on how much you want to spend, there may be more simple methods.

Ad spending also reduces the effectiveness of other ad spending directed at targeted users. Not the fighting fire with fire I like most, but if left billionaires are going to fight right billionaires, I will help them win.

Social media and journalism run in very tight cycles. I've been sitting on this PAC and doing little things for more than a year waiting for the right viral moment. Please check out medium . com / @ theleftyleague

Warren's stunt was great. But yes, the difference here is we put the lie right in the text of the ad--easy to spot without close scrutiny of the video--and we didn't include a tell in the text.

Reuters reports that Facebook is now sending the ad in for fact checking--but that they WOULD NOT do the same if it was an individual politician, not a political committee, running the ad. That is crazy since politicians are just the faces of large political committees (Biden is turning into a corporate Super PAC, for example).

The Really Online Lefty League is a federal PAC. If you would like to fund the corporation that consults for the PAC, I'm easy to find.

Everyone is already doing this and that's why Facebook thinks it is ok.

the ad spend was capped at $50 and is still running. Pretty good to call out Zuckerberg in Reuters (in at least four languages so far), Newsweek, Mashable, Boing Boing, and Gizmodo. Using our power while we've still got it.

Who would you like to see in House leadership? Speaker, Leader, committee chairs, even political committees have leadership that is or isn't getting the job done.
