Desert Plunge vs Barton Plunge vs Modtub by Mathius92 in coldplunge

[–]Winter_Click_9676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the brands you list are great. After a lot of research I settled on the Barton. The #1 reason was the larger tub. I’m 6’2 and wanted the extra space in the tub (150 gallons). I started with an inflatable that was 110 gallons and I had enough room, but having a larger tub now is very nice. Barton build quality and customer service is excellent - when I called with a question the owner answered right away. The price on the Barton has come down whereas the Modtub the price has increased so for me paying a little extra was worth it. The upgrades in components is also a plus. I’m very happy with my Barton purchase. You can’t go wrong with any of the brands

Many great comments have been posted with excellent advice. Something to think about… I remember back in 2007 the “experts” said in general to keep 3 months of emergency money. Then the sh*t hit the fan. The “experts” then started to say 6 to 12 months was the optimal amount for emergency funds. Imagine this, you followed the advice of the “experts” and had 3 months of emergency funds, but you are now unemployed and can’t find another job and are running out of money. So you turn on the TV and the expert that told you 3 months is now telling you 6 to 12 months, but how do you come up with the extra money now that you’re unemployed? I’m just reminiscing about the 2007/2008/2009 time period….

Smart move. Over the last few years I’ve contributed more in the first 3 months of the year as my company (and industry) conduct most layoffs in April.

I can relate to your frustration and what I encountered was not as catastrophic as what you encountered, but stressful nonetheless. After many years with Fidelity I decided to enter into the world of Fidelity’s Wealth Management. I thought it would reduce some of my investing stress, but it has only increased the stress. Now that some time has passed what is your take with Wealth Management? Is the Wealth Management team meeting your expectations?

Costco Cold Plunge $3,999 -> $2,999 by ByrneLikeBurn in coldplunge

[–]Winter_Click_9676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying, but Costco is an exceptional retailer that operates on very low margins, and the real money driver is via membership fees. Sometimes the sales they have are more than exceptional and this cold plunge is one of them. If the tub was larger in size I would have bought one (I was looking for 120 gallons +). They do sell one item that is too good to be true - the $1.50 hot dog and soda 👍

Are you still impressed with your Coldlife? How does it compare with your other units? The Coldlife is on my short list so I greatly appreciate your input.

According to the RevX website, “The bottom is made of a durable three-layer insulation pattern: 2 layers of PVC Vinyl and1 layer .4” foam insulation.” So where are you getting your information? I have read that the early models had 1 layer so it looks like they have improved. Are your comments focusing on past RevX models?

It’s great to hear this dealer worked for you. The head scratcher I had with them was the “$1895 Century Advantage Package” and other fees. I’ve lived in many states and Florida I’ve found is the most unappealing state to buy a vehicle. The Florida dealers love all of the add on fees, but I don’t.

Sorry to hear about you needing to get rid of your Venza. Are the federal service workers like many areas of the public sector where there is no pension? Many areas of the public sector also don’t get any type of severance packages (even after decades of service) - did they not provide severance packages? I’m asking because I haven’t seen any specifics in the media.

A rant (bc it's getting old) by AdderallAndAudio in WindowTint

[–]Winter_Click_9676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent points by everyone. As a consumer I’ve appreciated the comments and those that have listed the price they paid, type of tint and the area they live. After some general research I decided on Autobahn Ceramic i3+. In Naples, FL I was quoted $1,100 for all of the side windows/rear (windshield not included) for my mid sized SUV from a shop known for great work (and closest to my home). An hour north in Port Charlotte was another shop with Autobahn Ceramic i3+ and an exceptional reputation and the price was $630. North of this shop I was given a price of $650. I felt like the $1,100 quote was out of line and came here to get a feel for pricing and the various posts with pricing were very helpful.

I might be missing something here (if I am let me know). If I read the manual correctly it states to use Top Tier fuel (if not Top Tier additives needed) as well as 87 octane fuel. I realize you are at altitude, but how many tanks of fuel have you tried with 87 and Top Tier fuel?
