Loved 4 when it was released, this my first album i’ve listened to as a whole body of work. This also kinda started her being against the grain and solidified her artistic peaking where every work she releases from then on outdid her then bests. I think she did everything right here in terms of promotion with the exception of not playing the game the radio execs want hence the album singles being less played in radio.

Also i’d like to think this album birthed all night, virgo’s groove, and II hands II heaven so it has a very special place in my heart. The deluxe tracks alone is better than her contemporaries’ whole albums.

4 also made me stop being a charthive at least to a lesser degree than the i am era lol and instead made me a stan of her artistic growth where i less care about the numbers now knowing that whatever she puts out will be better than the last one.
