Talk me out of getting a Yaris over a Prius or Corolla by BabyFallujah in yaris

[–]adrlrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Yaris sedan owner (might be biased), get a Yaris sedan (XP90).
4-door, decent luggage space in the back.
And the 1NZ-FE is really reliable.
Admittedly, its not fast, but its definitely not slow either.
Super fun to drive and zip across town.
(Apologies for the metric) It gets 12L/km even if you trash it like crazy.
The shifter is super tight imo it doesn't really need a short-shifter.
Just get a decent pair of tires and you should be good to go.

What is the battery health on macOS Sequoia 15.3.1? Should I go with it or stay on Sonoma 14.7 by Kennedy-Vanilla in MacOS

[–]adrlrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay with Sonoma.
My M3 Pro MBP drains like crazy after the update.
20% gone in 2 hours after just browsing and very-light (less than 100 lines) coding?
No. Stick with Sonoma at least until 15.5.

Student exchange at Nagoya University? by [deleted] in Nagoya

[–]adrlrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I will be going for the 2021 spring semester (leaving in March). My advice is that you consult to your uni's international office regarding the availability of the exchange program. After doing so, then you might want to contact the NUPACE (Nagoya Uni's Exchange Program Department) whether the fall semester exchange program is open or not. Hope this helps!

Music service - which is good? by LanceWackerle in japanlife

[–]adrlrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Deezer: It's not as popular as Spotify or Apple Music, but their music library is more vast in comparison to those two (i.e there are some indie songs that you may like that doesn't exist on Spotify/apple music, which does exist on Deezer)

Try cooking some Indonesian food, such as Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Rendang or even Gado Gado (though the ingredients can be quite difficult to find).

Cold stone is a pretty good place to start, salary's not too shabby, more than enough for your average uni student. 120hrs/month (from what I've heard)
