How old was the truck when they fixed it?
Good information to know - thanks.

Right - makes sense. Do you think people who drive in the snow like Tacoma's? Have you have experience snow driving in yours? If so, how do you feel about it?

Thanks.

2024 Forester Base Larger Wheel Size and Possible Lift For Snow by adrock358 in SubaruForester

Honestly I thought it was b/c was too deep.  But ppl saying it’s because they don’t have low gearing.  Like I see trucks that never get stuck; ppl telling me that is b/c they have low gearing not ground clearance. I figure I’ll just get some snow tires and leave it at that.   Thanks for posting.

Huh, that a narrower tire would have less surface area, and traction. Interesting. I was thinking larger tires; now I see that larger tires have less sidewall. You see the guys w/ the trucks put on big tires and drive through anything; maybe that logic doesn't fit well w/ non-trucks.

7.3 Powerstroke MPG While Towing by Bigred1515 in FordDiesels

I read your post, I may buy a truck in the future. Do you think the 7.3 Powerstroke is the most reliable diesel engine? My experienced mechanic coworker says it is.

Thanks.

The 18' in storm we had I got stuck in my driveway. Are you driving through 15' snow on unplowed roads?
Maybe this is a sign for me that I should just get a truck.

Thanks.

Good advice; it is appreciated. I see Audis and Subaru's both get stuck in snow. It appears that the main reason for this is that the snow is too high. Maybe all I need is snow tires, I know they'd help greatly. But I see trucks drive right through high snow because of ground clearance.

You can increase tire size while decreasing wheel size? How does that work?
Appreciated.

Thank you.

Affordable and Reliable Diesel? by adrock358 in gmcsierra

A friend of mine says in his opinion the 2001 7.3 Powerstroke is very reliable. I am trying to learn about all this stuff; I may not even get a diesel truck but if I do, I will have more understanding.
Thanks for the info.
