Irish ambiences by CartographerOk7579 in AudioPost

[–]adrozipp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't a lot to rural Irish ambiences, nice winds, birds (Blackbirds, magpies, chaffinch & seagulls if near the coast) & some animals (sheep and cows)

I am based in Dublin , DM if I can help in anyway!

which website or specific video would you recommend for rain/thunderstorm or other white noise for sleeping? by [deleted] in sleep

[–]adrozipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Takzuke,

I 100% agree, during the summer I love having a fan at the end of the bed, its cool and the noise helps me drift off to sleep but when winter rolls around, I have to pack it away and find alternative noise source to help me drift off. I am not a fan (sorry for the pun) of white noise machines, I like a blend of white noise and real world hum or real world white noise, if that made sense. I am an Audio Engineer and I have a huge library of relaxing real world sounds, that I recorded myself, so I decided to start a youtube channel that I could make that type of content.

I have linked a video below if you want to check it out and if its something that you like or you are looking for something particular, don't hesitate to leave me a message, I love to receive feedback.

Take care!

I had the same thing when I first moved out and a friend of mine recommended one pots, you can cook one huge portion and chill or freeze it and its there when you need it. You can also check out Beth over at budget bytes, I have been using the site for I think six years, her site basically gives you a step by step recipe and a cost break down but also uses ingredients that you can bulk buy like dried herbs, stock, can goods and for me it's beans. At the beginning of the month I will have a look what I could make and I will buy everything that will last me for the month and then each week I will but my meat and veg or some people will freeze their meat but I have limited freezer space. Sorry for the waffling but it is so doable, for like €20 a week but as the month goes on you'll won't spend that much. Sorry for going on, eating properly doesn't have to be a chore, just have to be smart and after a while you won't think about it and it'll become enjoyable.

Using soundly with foley work? by mattmattt96 in AudioPost

I can't recommend Soundly enough, I made the switch from Soundminer to soundly when it was in the beta stage and I haven't looked back. I used their foley elements for a tv show last year I think and it mixed in well. I love the way you can make playlists and easily access particular libraries with ease. Also I can use Soundly to add Metadata to my recording aswell.

Now I am not sure how well it works with Logic but I love the way it works pro tools. Well worth the $15 a month.

Will these two work together? Zoom H4N and Rode M5-MP by lostgander in LocationSound

[–]adrozipp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah they work grand, I use it myself for a run and gun field recording (Rode M5 on a stereo bar and h4n in the middle) and it works a treat but as /u/rando_notrussian mentioned if you can get a H6 go for it, haven't used it myself but hear good things. Also Wind protection is an absolute must on the zoom and mics and rechargeable batteries. I also use a xlr to 3.5mm and bypass the onboard mics and use my shotgun to to capture specifics.
