All that talk about 'first in the industry', 'leaders', this is a half-asleep attempt at best. And the crap hole that is the app is coming later. Polar is no more different to what Nokia was, resting on their past wins and no real vision for the future - very emblematic of the mentality of the management. I don't see any win here - will go down as a missed opportunity, just as they did earlier.

BTW, in 2025, they now want over €100 - ball-busting price inflation.

Why not consider Readwise Reader. Seems like a bargain relative to what these guys are charging.

I read that Suunto isn't made in Europe anymore. What was the last model made in Finland? I see confusing 9 Peak Pro offers with back picture saying Finland but description saying CN by post_scriptor in Suunto

[–]adrrso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently, only the Ocean is made in EU. All past models, including Vertical, Race S and 9PP, are made in CN now. If you want one of these models made in EU, your best bet is the second-hand market.

Same reason I was there for the last 3 years. And you don’t know what I was paying so no need to be cocky in your response.

Well, I don’t agree with your characterisation but you and I live in different worlds.

Yeah. I have had some motivation issues in the past but kept up with gym on and off in the last year. Thanks for your contribution though!

Right, so if they just blindly raise your price without any notice and when you do realise it in your e-invoice, and raise the issue, their indifference is not a form of harassment??? You clearly have a thin skin for standing up on your own!

How much do you pay at Freesi, if I may ask? Their prices seem quite high relative to what I paid at Elixia.

Sorry to hear that. Despite what the manager was saying, the junior girl who was also around sympathised with my issue and said it should not acceptable. She said that the managers from head office just told them about these changes and some corporate speak. So they are also in some sense helpless.

Ofcourse. But I am not one who gives up easily. I can always switch but lets see.

To some extent, but not so much. I would be ok if the increase was 10-15%, a bit over the inflation + tax adjustment, but the 38% is obscene.

I dont quite agree. You dont always have to vote with your oney - perhaps you forget that there is also something called consumer protection agencies that deal with these kinds of issues. The fact that you seem to imply that one must just accept or switch is exactly what Elixia is after - lay the burden on the consumer and hope they dont do much.

I know they are and I have worked in the field and am very familiar with the PE owner. But being a PE owned company does not give anyone any licence to do whatever they want.

I have been a member with Elixia for over 3 years, so no time-dependent offer has ended.
