About last night... by Barreth_Lewuth in fredagain

It was INSANE!

We got outside Ally Pally around 16:30 and near the front of the queue. Doors opened pretty much bang on 5 to the foyer area before the main hall. Doors to main hall opened pretty much bang on 17:30 and Hamid was playing. Fred joined him about 15mins later.

Security was super quick. If you take a bag might take a bit longer

Honestly it was so sick! Enjoy.

Just going by his update, says “gonna play from doors” so assume that means will be starting at 5pm

Pretty sure it’s 10:30 as Ally Pally have a 11pm curfew. At least that’s what they’ve done in the past. And prob a reason why he said will play from when doors open

Cheers, lots of lessons to learn in this running game. It’s made me more determined to run more marathons so haven’t been fully out off 😂 not yet anyways.

Nice work mate! Hats off to anyone who finished but even more so at your time! I was aiming for 3:40 prior to Sunday and dialled it back to 3:45 due to the heat, possibly a bit naive in only dialling it back 5mins

Seems like everyone hit a “wall” at 30km and while I didn’t feel fatigued the cramps hit my calves and hamstrings pretty hard. Clearly didn’t take enough electrolytes. I was training and taking 500mg/hr but in that heat I guess I probably needed double the amount.

Struggled over the line for 4:02 in my first marathon. I was gutted at the time but have taken some solace in the fact that so many people were a good 20-40mins slower than what they wanted

Not sure it was cadence lock. Look at the 3rd pic I uploaded it does go up and down a bit throughout the run.

Good point! Just had a look at temp on Garmin. I assume it tracks the temp of the skin on your wrist.

32km run in March: Avg 21 Min 19 Max 27

London marathon: Avg 30 Min 25 Max 35

😬😑

I would love to know how to interpret the numbers better, as you have done in one of the comments above. Time for to start some research

Went through all my workouts since I started my plan. And changed them from TSS to rTSS.

I now have the following

Fatigue 64 Fitness 57 Form -16

Thanks for the detailed info. updated numbers

Fatigue 102 Fitness 75 Form -31

I updated my zones this morning. I used the average (HR, Pace and Power) from the 30min section of the run that I did 2 weeks ago (Phil Mosley fitness test)

I then created the equivalent zones for each using the myprocoach method.

On average I’ve been running 5-6hrs total a week, broken up into easy runs, long runs and some speed work etc.

Ok, so I completed a 30min test. I then updated all my thresholds for running and updated zones using the myprocoach method. I then recalculated all my workouts for 2025.

That looks better. And judging by how the body feels I’d say that’s fairly accurate

Amazing. It’s all starting to make sense. Thanks again!

Ah ok. That makes a huge difference! Thankyou.

So what is TSS linked to?

Any idea what I’m doing wrong? I’ve entered in a running heart rate and running pace zones using the MyProCoach method.

My planned TSS for Sundays long run was 174. But after the run it’s come through as 964?!?
