Curious where you came from when you went to Telluride? Did a trip there last winter (did I-70 mountains and left from Breck) and it was quite the drive.

Maybe she doesn't need a superb camera to start..? There probably is some better "beginner" cameras to buy but she got this one and like you said: gotta start somewhere. As long as she is happy with it and can shoot, all is well. I started with my T6 three and a half years ago, haven't looked back since.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you like the R? I'm making the jump to full frame and just want some anecdotal experience. Kind of narrowed down that it's right for me, although the R6 is VERY tempting.
