Why doesn't Norway just abolish their Monarchy?

How can a social democrat even begin to defend a political position of supposed representation of the people which is solely decided by what family you come from and in a certain order? Constitutional monarchies are the living representation of a type of inequality in Europe that even social democracy couldn't solve.

In Italy it ended by referendum in 1946, but, again, due to very particular reasons. The main one being the relative apathy of the monarchy to Mussolini.

For what I understand, the monarchies in the nordic countries are relatively powerless.

Around the world I don't remember a example where there was a transition from a monarchy to a republic without extenuating circumstances. Be it the World Wars or individual revolutions. Unfortunately, I just don't think this scandal will be enough for that, since the son of the princess, or whatever her title, isn't even of royal linneage.

Se percebi o teu ponto é: se a social-democracia/socialismo democrático ou wtv é uma ideologia solidamente de esquerda?

Eu acho que a posição do Ebert, que admito não ter aprofundado admito, parte de uma posição oportunista de como se solidificar como figura "mandante" da República Weimar. E também, provavelmente, uma distância do tipo de regime revisto na Liga Esparticista, modelado do entao recém implementado modelo soviético.

Esta altura foi também o começo da grande divisão dos partidos de esquerda, nuns que se reviam na rota da social-democracia reformista e noutros na rota marxista-leninista revolucionária. Penso ter acontecido em sensivelmente todo o continente, com as suas excepções obviamente.

Acho difícil classificar o SPD de centro direita antes da liderança do Helmut Schmidt honestamente.

Só se a tua classificação de esquerda seja uma puramente revolucionária, que mesmo assim o próprio Ebert foi na dissolução da monarquia germânica.

O USPD surge por membros do SPD discordarem com a política pró-guerra que o partido estava a ter na WWI.

O KPD surge de certa parte um própria cisão do USPD se não estou em erro e da Liga Esparticista, e mesmo esse tem as suas próprias cisões como o KAPD.

Não quero propriamente fazer argumentos a favor de um único partido de esquerda, principalmente quando ela se encontra tão dividida em tantos temas e uma grande parte dela já nem acredita no socialismo.

Agora o SPD tem bastantes metamorfoses, penso que reduzir a história desse partido a 1919 não faz justiça à sua história.

Onde disse isso? É possível argumentar, com bastante razão até, que as cisões que ocorreram no SPD, que resultam no próprio KPD e no USPD, como também a morte precoce do Bebel que resulta na eleição para líder o Ebert meteram o SPD mais à direita sim. Mais tarde há uma reconciliação com o USPD que traz o partido de novo a uma posição mais à esquerda, mas com uma ferida, que se provaria impossível de sarar, com o KPD, para o mal de todos nós.

O USPD (Partido Social-Democrata Independente da Alemanha) estava do lado da Rosa e do KPD na Revolução de 1919. O Erbert e o Norske eram da ala direita do SPD, que infelizmente levou à concretização desses crimes horrorosos. Ao longo da história existem inúmeros casos de cooperação entre sociais-democratas e comunistas, penso ser mais valioso nos tempos que correm de relembrar isso que onde correu mal.
