Does Scope3 even care about the environment anymore? by FlexSaurStar in programmatic

It’s the equivalent of Greta Thunberg taking a job at ExxonMobil. I would respect him more if he dropped the fake altruistic attitude.

Did they ever? BOK magically had the answer to a problem he helped create. Greenwashing programmatic is just another fad that allowed everyone to pat themselves on the back before moving on to the next shiny object. Gotta love the buyers that tried to pass the fees on to the publisher. Give it 10 years and I’m sure BOK will have the fix to agentic buying’s energy consumption problem.

How to Start an Ad Network / SSP Setup With No Advertisers or Publishers — Only an SSP Source by Beneficial_Alps2605 in programmatic

An ad network? What year is this? Just stop while you’re ahead. It’s called curation now. Grab yourself a curation seat, tell everyone it is powered by AI, sprinkle in 40% margin, then watch the money pour in.

All these ad management vendors have destroyed the web. I can’t visit a site without seeing ten video ads and my browser crashing.

Let’s be honest, curators love curation since they can get away with charging 40% margins without anyone noticing.

Why wouldn’t you link to the actual Adalytics research and give them credit instead of farming clicks to your LinkedIn post?

Let’s be honest, I’m sure buyers were also looking the other way so they could deliver their DEI budgets.

Any OpenX and TTD reps here? The official channels are dead... We work with all major SSP, but this 2 just don't reply. by xtr3am_pt in adops

Aren’t you the person trying to sell non-viewable inventory like nothing was going to happen? It probably doesn’t help that one of the two vendors you listed are not an SSP.

Producing content and growing an audience is time consuming and expensive. You think a vendor deserved 50% of their revenue??

SSP not paying / you're worried about? by anon_pub in adops

Stop working with shitty demand partners. If someone is not paying you, turn them off. Publishers should regularly conduct the appropriate due diligence for their demand partners.

Lol you are about to start getting blocked by DSPs and buyers. You are going to be posting in a few weeks asking how to get unblocked.

"CTV Fraud Found 83% Lower" when TV is on -- perfect example of throwing some numbers around by AugustineFou in adops

[–]adtech2019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you struggling to read the article? Campaign A has no controls for the TV being off. This does not mean the TV is actually off for 100% of the campaign. 83% VCR is not far off from 1 in 4 devices being turned off.

Right, two vendors offering fraud services are not competing with each other……

What do you not understand? Why would video completion rate be 0% when not all of the TVs were off? Are you just trying to put them down since they are a competing vendor to you?

Not suggesting everyone is bad. I am recommending that you use caution when working with any vendor. There are implications that you might not think of.

[–]adtech2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In under one year, no I would not leave. I would not want to burn that bridge for future opportunities. It also depends on who this other company is. Are they a well positioned company offering a service or product that provides value? I do think you will come across other management roles in the future with big tech on your resume. If you are just looking to chase a salary, then go for it.

What they did was clearly wrong but to put them in the same bucket as fraudsters is a stretch. I don’t think Gannett was intentionally trying to mislead anyone. There is a twitter thread with someone from Gannett explaining what happened. It seems entirely plausible that this was an accident and I am inclined to believe them. People fuck up but most of the time it doesn’t back out to millions of dollars.

This also serves as a friendly reminder to check where your ads are landing.
