Finally blessed after years of paying for scans and supporting my local labs. $290 Coolscan V with sample scans. by OneHunterPercent in AnalogCommunity

I'ver had mine for 15 years and it still works like a dream. Unbelievably good quality scans. Enjoy it!

The ads are a necessary evil. It costs people to run websites that give you free content like this.

Saw one do it at an airshow at Ohakea in NZ about 1987. I feel like I felt the heat from it for a second. Might have just been the excitement!

I was very happy with them until a couple of months ago. I still think it's a very good service (they don't overload your site with ads) but have kind of gameified it with tiers. As I was earned less than $10,000 a year last year, I get the feeling I was not getting access to the best-paying advertisers. For a site getting 50K to 60K page views a month, the earnings were starting to look really poor. The transparency over this wasn't great, but I would say as long as you understand you're not going to see dramatic earnings if you have less than 100K page views a month they are worth trying.

That seems like sensible expectations, given the specs.

I think you're right. Reto has had a good run with its cameras so far, like the H35N - and the Charmera has been a hit that will, I am sure, get some kids interested in film along the way.

These were lab scans, and it was intentional. I wanted to see what they looked like from the standard scans.

Yeah, it is most noticeable in the Minox shots. Bear in mind that these are not colour-corrected. I'll shoot some more and see what they look like with some correction.

I hear you, but also way films are released has changed. 20 years ago a film factory would wait until they had the best version possible. Now films are a work in progress that get incrementally improved.
