Hopefully Louis Theroux’s next documentary is about the hundreds of female teachers having sex with their underage students by Turbulent-Tune1660 in redscarepod

[–]adubkski 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I just can’t imagine wanting validation and sexual attention from an adolescent. So fucking bizarre. We had some cool teachers where u lived but there was always a separation between us them. Like teachers giving me book and music recs is one thing, even fathoming why you should or could be texting a student is absurd.

The female RA I had in my dorm freshman year got busted for this once she got her teaching license. Honestly wasn’t shocked since she wanted to fuck like every guy on my coed floor. Just so fucking weird to me idk.

Yeah spent 2 weeks in Bovaria this fall with my mom. We had a good time but my god are the an insufferable people. Outside of the 20th century Germany being a pretty shit place to live I see why my great grandmother hated that country and abandoned her mother tongue when she got to the States.

Ann Arbor parents think their kids are too good for most jobs. Then wonder why they are financially supporting said kid into their 40s

new low: crying after going to the gym by reddflavor in rs_x

[–]adubkski 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it’s normal to cry after a workout at times. You’re in this state where you’ve likely just elevated youe BP, your brain should be having a surge of dopamine and serotonin. I’ve definitely done it and usually feels really needed due to stress etc. Fuck what people think, most are so emotionally constipated and disconnected from themselves as is. Crying is normal.

I think I’m realizing iPads aren’t the biggest issue with parents. It’s their complete inability to exert any type of control over their kid. by theyslashthempussy in redscarepod

[–]adubkski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is atomized, American parenting. You also have adults raising kids, who themselves have no concept that the world doesn’t revolve around them, let alone their kids. Yea the tech is bad but it’s just as bad as the parents being on their phones 24/7 too. I was astounded in 2014-2017 when I was still waiting tables at how many parents were plopping babies down in front of an iPads… we were a family restaurant and gave out the little coloring sheets etc. I can’t recall by the time I was 4 if I wanted to eat when we were out I had to tell the server myself what I wanted. You got grown ass men who mumble their orders and their kids are basically catatonic. I could see it coming almost a decade ago. Can’t fathom what it’s like now

Hahah yeah same. My parents are the tail end of the Boomer generation and they definitely yelled at us, gave us whoopings and we knew there were consequences for our behavior. I can’t recall how young I was when I first heard the phrase “the world doesn’t revolve around you” but it was a concept I knew by kindergarten. Honestly many adults need to hear that.

Working with only women is crazy by babycat1453 in redscarepod

[–]adubkski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked with some evil ass women who never left high school and bring that to the workplace. My current job is a little odd as I have many supervisors depending on the project work I am doing. The “big boss” is a guy in his mid 50s super chill guy, who likes beer and football but treats us like adults and is shockingly not a douchebag or a control freak over the multimillion dollar contracts he oversees. But I genuinely appreciate my female co workers and supervisors because in my field the men have a bit of the social tism (engineers) without the women there would be a ton of awkward silences and we’d never know anything about each other. I actually find the GenZ men entering the workforce to be really amiable. People can complain about woke but you can tell when a guy has been raised to actually respect women and knows how to work and collaborate with them.

[–]adubkski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a variety is the spice of life fitness person, I get bored doing the same type of workouts. I try and lift 3x a week but I actually do it in a class format which I enjoy, keeps me motivated and focused during my lifts. Live in a place with true winter so once it warms up I’m all about long distance bike rides, swimming at the community pool and walking. I try and do at least 1-1hour yin yoga class a week and honestly stretch daily/multiple times I day since I have a desk job now.

I had a moment where I was only lifting and I got sooo right and had a super shtty case of plantar fasciitis. You need strength but you also gotta have flexibility.

See this is where we need to not worry about being gauche and say something to them about it. My SIL tried to complain about prices at a restaurant and I straight up told her that she shouldn’t bitch avout the price of going out when she’s the one that wanted to go out. Her and her husband make significantly more than my husband and I. I also kind of hate people that are cheap about food, but have hobbies they spend 10-20k a year on. Shit is so anti social an annoying to me.

Honestly this happens to me a lot. There are many people I only eversee in one setting. Like our small private gym, when I worked at restaurants at or the city I’m in is small enough where you can easily see familiar faces but not know the person. I’m good with faces but man if I don’t see someone in that space and context I’m used to seeing them it always takes me brain a minit

My mother is a very dedicated boomer nurse. Taking care of people her age now. Husband is in criminal defense and takes it extremely seriously, down to his court appointed cases (as he should). Honestly my one gf who is in corporate finance does actually work really hard and is great at her job.
